CheckingtheInterlock
Switches
Ifsafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnected
ordamagedthemachinecouldoperate
unexpectedlycausingpersonalinjury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Thepurposeoftheinterlockswitchesaretoprevent
theenginefromcrankingorstartingunlessthetraction
pedalisinNeutral,theEnable/Disableswitchisin
DisableandtheLowerMow/Raisecontrolisinthe
neutralposition.Inaddition,theenginewillstopwhen
thetractionpedalisdepressedwitheithertheoperator
offtheseatortheparkingbrakeengaged.
Toverifyinterlockswitchfunction:
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecutting
units,stoptheengineandengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Opencontrolpanelcover.Locatewireharnessand
loopbackconnector.Carefullyunplugloopback
connectorfromharnessconnector(Figure40).

switchisclosed.
Individually,changeeachoftheswitchesfrom
opentoclosed(i.e.,sitonseat,engagetraction
pedal,etc.),andnotethattheappropriateLED
onDiagnosticACEwillblinkonandoffwhen
