RemovingtheHydraulicPumpAssembly
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page6–8).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,settheparkingbrake,lowerthecutting
units,andshutofftheengine,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Raiseandsupportthehoodandoperatorseat.Liftthehoodsaddlefromthe
framebracketsandremovefromthemachine.
3.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page6–145).
4.Cleanthetractionandgearpumpassemblyandallhydraulicconnectionsto
preventhydraulicsystemcontamination.
5.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulicconnections.
6.Disconnectthehosesandtubesfromthettingsonthetractionandgear
pumpassembly.Allowthehydrauliclinestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.
7.Installcleancapsorplugsontheopeningsofpumpsanddisconnectedlines
topreventcontamination.
8.Removethehydraulicpumpdriveshaft;refertoRemovingtheHydraulic
PumpDriveshaft(page6–160).
9.Disconnectthetractioncontrolcableandneutralswitchonthepistonpump
controlassembly;refertoPiston(Traction)PumpControlAssembly(page
6–156).Carefullypositionthetractioncontrolcableandwireharnessaway
fromthepistonpump.
CAUTION
Theweightofthepumpassemblyisapproximately36kg(80lb).
Ensurethattheliftorhoistcansupportthetotalweightofthepump
assemblybeforeremovingtheboltsfromthepumpassemblyand
frame.
10.Connectaliftorhoisttotheholeinthetractioncablebracketonthetraction
pumptosupportthepumpassemblyandforpumpremoval.
11.Loosenandremovethe2carriagescrews(item41inFigure151)and2
angenutsthatsecurethepumpsupportbrackettotheframe.
12.Removethe2ange-headscrews(item20inFigure151)and2angenuts
thatsecurethetractionpumpangetothemachineframe.
IMPORTANT
Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethemachinecomponentswhile
removingthepumpassembly.
13.Carefullyliftthepumpassemblyfromthemachine.Placetheassemblyon
suitableworkbench.
