3.Fortheliftcylinderthatistobetested,useajacktoraisetheliftarmslightly.
Thiswillremovetheloadfromtheliftcylinderandrelieveliftcylinderhydraulic
pressure.Leavethejackundertheliftarmtosupporttheliftarmandto
preventtheliftarmfromlowering.
Note:Ifeitheroftherearliftcylindersisbeingtested,bothrearliftarms
needtobesupported.

cylinderforthesupportedliftarm.Disconnectthehydraulichosefromthelift
cylinderrodendtting(Figure106).
IMPORTANT
Whencappingliftcylinderttingandhydraulichoseend,useasteel
capandplugtoensurethattheuidleakagewillnotoccur.Plastic
plugswillnotholdhydraulicpressurethatwillbedevelopedduring
thistestprocedure.
5.Placeasteelcapontheopenliftcylinderttingtosealtheliftcylinder.Also,
installasteelplugintheopenendofthedisconnectedhosetoprevent
leakageorcontamination.
6.Slowlylowerthejackandremoveitfromundertheliftarm.Thecuttingunit
shouldsettleslightlyandthenbesupportedbythecappedliftcylinder.
