Theengineoilpressureswitchisanormallyclosedswitchthatopenswith
pressureduringnormalengineoperation.Theoilpressureswitchislocatedon
theengineneartheoillter(Figure255).OnmachineswithaKubotadiesel
engine,theToroElectronicController(TEC)monitorstheoperationoftheoil
pressureswitch.TheoilpressureswitchinmachineswithaKubotagasoline
engineismonitoredbytheengineECU.
Note:Lowengineoilpressure,adamagedoilpressureswitchordamaged
wiringtotheoilpressureswitchcouldcauseaclosedcircuitthatwouldleadto
engineshutdownwithanInfoCenterdisplayidentifyingAdvisory#169.
TestingtheOilPressureSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,settheparkingbrake,lowerthecutting
units,andshutofftheengine.Removethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Raiseandsupporthood.Locateoilpressureswitchonengineand
disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitch.

switchterminalandtheswitchbase(groundconnection)(Figure256).
A.Withtheenginenotrunning,theoilpressureswitchshouldbeclosedso
thereshouldbecontinuitybetweentheswitchterminalandtheswitch
base(0ohms).
B.Withtheenginerunning,theoilpressureswitchshouldbeopensothere
shouldnotbecontinuitybetweentheswitchterminalandtheswitchbase
(inniteohms).
