3.Inspectdrivegear,idlergearandbearingblocks(Figure181)forthefollowing:
A.Gearshaftsshouldbefreeofroughsurfacesandexcessivewearat
bushingpointsandsealingareas.Scoring,roughsurfacesorwearon
gearshaftsindicatesneedforreplacement.
B.Gearteethshouldbefreeofexcessivescoringandwear.Anybrokenor
nickedgearteethmustbereplaced.
C.Inspectgearfaceedgeforsharpness.Sharpedgesofgearswillmillinto
bearingblocksand,thus,mustbereplaced.
D.Bearingareasofbearingblocksshouldnothaveexcessivewearor
scoring.
E.Faceofbearingblocksthatareincontactwithgearsshouldbefreeof
wear,roughnessorscoring.
4.Inspectfrontangeandrearcoverfordamageorwear.

Note:Whenassemblingthemotor,checkthemarkerlinemadeduring
disassemblytoensurethatthepartsareproperlyalignedduringassembly.
1.LubricatenewO-rings,pressureseals,back-upgaskets,andsealgrooves
withathincoatofpetroleumjelly.Lubricateallotherinternalpartsfreelywith
cleanhydraulicuid.
2.Installnewshaftsealintofrontange.Installtabwasher.
Note:Pressuresealsandback-upringstingroovesmachinedintofront
andrearcover(Figure180).
3.Installlubricatedpressuresealsintothemachinedgroovesandfollowby
carefullyplacingtheback-upringsintothegrooves.
4.InstalllubricatedO-ringstothebody.
