9.Blockthewheelswithchockstopreventthewheelrotationduringtesting.
10.Starttheengineandpresstheenginespeedswitchtofullspeed(3,005to
3,055rpm)position.UsetheInfoCentertocheckthattheenginespeedis
correct.
11.Recordthereadingonthechargecircuitpressuregauge.Thecharge
pressure(withoutload)shouldreadfrom1,034to1,379kPa(150to200psi).
Ifthechargereliefpressurespecicationisnotmet,considerthefollowing:
A.Thegearpump(P3)isdamaged(steeringcircuitperformancewillalso
beaffected).T estthegearpump(P3)ow;refertoTestingtheSteering
Circuit–GearPump(P3)Flow(5610-D)(page6–133).
B.Thepistonpumpchargereliefvalveisdamaged.Repairorreplacethe
pistonpumpchargereliefvalve;refertoServicingthePiston(Traction)
Pump(page6–167).
12.Sitintheoperator’sseat,releasetheparkingbrake,andslowlypressthe
tractionpedalforwarduntil6,900to10,340kPa(1,000to1,500psi)is
reachedonthetractioncircuitpressuregauge.
13.Recordthereadingonthechargecircuitpressuregauge(underload).
Thechargepressure(underload)shouldnotdropmorethan20%when
comparedtochargepressure(withoutload)recordedinstep11.
Ifspecicationsarenotmet,performthepistonpump/hydrostatowand
tractionreliefpressuretest;refertoTestingtheTractionCircuit–Piston
Pump/HydrostatFlowandReliefPressure(5610-D)(page6–110).
14.Releasethetractionpedal,presstheenginespeedswitchtolowspeed
position,andshutofftheengine.
15.Afteryoucompletethechargepressuretesting,ensurethattheengineis
notrunningandthenreleasehydraulicsystempressure;refertoReleasing
PressurefromtheHydraulicSystem(page6–8).Disconnectthepressure
gaugesfromthetestports.
16.Lowerandsecuretheoperatorseat.
17.Starttheengine,checkforhydraulic-uidleaks,repairanyleaksas
necessary,andllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uidbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
