CAUTION
Thefrontwheelmotorswilltrytomovethemachineforward.
Useextremecautionwhenperformingthetest.
7.Slowlypressthetractionpedalintheforwarddirectionuntil6,900kPa(1,000
psi)isdisplayedonthetesterpressuregauge.Ensurethatthefrontwheels
arenotrotatingandrecordtheowmeterreading.
8.Releasethetractionpedal,shutofftheengine,rotateboththefrontwheels
90°andthentestagain.Releasethetractionpedal,shutofftheengine,
rotateboththefrontwheels180°andthentestagain.Usetheaverageofthe
3owmeterreadingstojudgethefrontwheelmotorperformance.Testing
ofwheelmotorleakageinthe3differentwheelpositionswillprovidethe
mostaccuratetestresults.
9.Thetotalinternalleakageforthefrontwheelmotorscombinedwillbeshown
ontheowmeter.Leakageforthefrontwheelmotorscombinedshouldbe
lessthan11.3L/minute(3gallons/minute).
Proceedtotestingtherearwheelmotoriftestresultsarewithinspecication.
Iftheleakagespecicationsarenotmet,testthefrontwheelmotors
individuallyasfollows:
A.Removethefrontwheelandwheelshieldfromthewheelmotorthatisnot
beingtestedtogetaccesstothehydraulictubesandttingsonthewheel
motor.RemovetheR-clampsthatsecurethehydraulictubestotheframe.
B.Cleananddisconnecthydrauliclinesfromthefrontwheelmotorthatis
notbeingtested.Capthedisconnectedhydrauliclinesandplugtheports
ofthedisconnectedwheelmotortopreventcontamination.
C.Repeattheproceduredescribedinsteps6through8toidentifyindividual
frontwheelmotorleakage.Theowshouldbelessthan5.7L/minute
(1.5gallons/minute)forthetestedwheelmotor.
D.Iftestingisrequiredforotherfrontwheelmotor,completestepsA,B,and
Cfortheremainingfrontwheelmotor.
E.Ifspecicationsarenotmet,repairorreplacethewornwheelmotor.
10.Afteryoucompletethetesting,releasepressurefromthehydraulicsystem;
refertoReleasingPressurefromtheHydraulicSystem(page6–8).
11.Disconnectthetesterfromthehydraulicsystem.
12.Connectallthedisconnectedhydraulichosesandtubesandsecurethe
hydraulictubestotheframe.
13.Installthewheelshieldandwheels;refertoWheels(page8–5).
14.Starttheengine,checkforhydraulic-uidleaks,repairanyleaksas
necessary,andllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uidbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
TestingtheRearWheelMotors
Hydraulicuidowsthroughbothfrontwheelmotors(inparallel)beforepassing
throughtherearwheelmotors(inseries).Toaccuratelytesttherearwheel
motors,thefrontwheelmotorsmustbeallowedtorotate.
