CAUTION
Duringthisprocedure,allthewheelswillbeoffthegroundand
rotating.Ensurethatthemachineiswellsupportedsoitwillnot
moveandaccidentallyfalltopreventinjuringanyonearoundthe
machine.
9.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed.Checkforhydraulic-uidleaks
fromthetestconnectionsandcorrectbeforecontinuingthetest.
10.Withtheenginerunning,presstheenginespeedswitchtofullspeed(3,005
to3,055rpm)position.UsetheInfoCentertocheckthattheenginespeedis
correct.
11.VerifythepumpowatNoLoadasfollows:
A.Slowlypressthetractionpedaltofullyforwardposition.
B.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsatnoload.Unrestricted
pumpoutputshouldbeapproximately98L/minute(26gallons/minute)
at6,900kPa(1,000psi).
12.VerifythepumpowUnderLoadasfollows:
A.Slowlypressthetractionpedaltofullyforwardposition,andkeepthe
pedalpressedintheforwardposition.
B.Applyanadditionalloadof6,900to10,340kPa(1,000to1,500psi)by
slowlyclosingtheowmeter.Theowmeterpressuregaugeshould
read13,800to17,500kPa(2,000to2,500psi).
C.Recordthetesterpressureandowreadingsunderload.
13.Verifythetractionreliefvalveoperationasfollows:
A.ReturnthetractionpedaltotheNEUTRALposition.
B.Fullyclosetheowmeterowcontrolvalve.
C.Slowlysetthetractionpedaltofullforwardposition.
D.Recordthetesterpressurereading.
Thesystempressureshouldreach26,200to26,545kPa(3,800to3,850
psi)beforethereliefvalveopens.
Note:Thereliefvalvesettingis25,000kPa(3,625psi).Anadditional
690to1,030kPa(100to200psi)isnecessarytoovercomesystem
chargepressurebeforethereliefvalveopens.
E.Releasethetractionpedal,openowcontrolvalvefully,presstheengine
speedswitchtolowspeed,andshutofftheengine.
14.Ifthereliefpressurecannotbemetorisgreaterthanspecied,thetraction
reliefvalveisdamagedandshouldbereplaced.
15.Theunderloadtestowreading(step12C)shouldnotdropmorethan12%
whencomparedtothenoloadtestowreading(step11B).Adifferenceof
morethan12%mayindicatethepistonpump/hydrostatiswornandshould
berepairedorreplaced.
16.Afteryoucompletethetesting,disconnectthetesterandconnectthehoseto
thepumptting.
17.Starttheengine,checkforhydraulic-uidleaks,repairanyleaksas
necessary,andllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uidbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
