5.Liftthemachinewithajacktoremovetherearwheel,supportthemachine
withjackstands.
6.Removetherearwheelfromthemachine;refertoRemovingtheWheel
(page8–6).
7.Removewheelhubfromtherearwheelmotorasfollows:
IMPORTANT
Donothitthewheelhub,wheel-hubpuller,orwheelmotorwitha
hammerwhileremovingorinstalling.Hammeringcandamagethe
wheelmotor.
A.Ensurethatthelocknutonthewheelmotorshaftisloosenedatleast
2turns.
B.Useahubpuller(refertoWheelHubPuller(page6–47))toloosenthe
wheelhubfromthewheelmotor.
C.Removethelocknutandwheelhubfromthemotorshaft.Discardthe
locknut.
D.Locateandretrievethewoodruffkey(item7inFigure159)fromthe
wheelmotorshaft.
8.Cleanthehydraulichoseendsandttingsonthewheelmotortoprevent
contaminantsfromenteringintothehydraulicsystem.
9.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulicconnectionsatthewheel
motor.
10.Loosenandremovethehydraulictubesfromthettingsonthewheelmotor.
Allowthehosestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.
11.Installcleancapsorplugsonthehydraulichosesandttingstoprevent
systemcontamination.
12.Supportthewheelmotortopreventitfromfallingduringremoval.
13.Removethe4bolts(item10inFigure159)and4lockwashersthatsecure
thewheelmotortothemotorhousing.
14.Removethewheelmotorfromthemachine.
15.Ifthehydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthewheelmotor,markthe
ttingorientationforassemblypurposes.Removethettingsfromthewheel
motoranddiscardtheO-ringsfromthettings.
