Presssealsintohousingsothatsealcontactsboreshoulder.
3.Assemblerollerbrushcomponentsnotingthefollowingitems:
A.Applycoatingofgreasetolipsofgreasesealsinbrushbearinghousing
beforeinsertingbrushshaftintohousing.
B.Positionexcludersealsonbrushshaftsothatsealsjusttouchbearing
housings.
C.Ifdrivenpulley(item12)wasremovedfromrollerbrushshaft,apply
antiseizelubricanttosplinesofpulleyboreandslidepulleyontoshaft.
Installandtightenangenutuntilpulleyisseatedontoshaftandthen
torqueangenutfrom37to44N∙m(27to33ft-lb).Usea½wrenchon
rollerbrushshaftatstopreventshaftfromrotatingwhentighteningnut.
D.Checkandadjustalignmentofdriveanddrivenpulleys;referto
AssemblingtheDriveSystem(page9–66).

IMPORTANT
Therollerbrushshaftmustnorcontactthecuttingunitsideplate.
Also,heavybrushcontactontherearrollerwillcausepremature
brushwear.
4.Checkthatbrushisparalleltorearrollerwith1.5mm(0.060”)clearanceto
lightcontactwithrearroller.Ifcontactisincorrect,brushoperationwillbe
adverselyaffected.
5.Lubricategreasettingsonbrushhousingsuntilgreasepurgespastinboard
seals.Wipeexcessgreasefromsealsandttings.
