Note:Acasedrainexistsinthepiston(traction)pumpandasuctionportis
neartheinputshaftofthegearpump(Figure152).Whenthegearpumpis
removedfromthepistonpump,installplugsintothepistonpumpcasedrain
holeandgearpumpsuctionporttopreventdrainingthepumps.
14.Separatethetractionandgearpumpsasfollows:
A.Removethe2socket-headscrews(item6inFigure151),2lockwashers,
and2atwashersthatsecurethegearpumptothetractionpump.
B.Removethegearpumpfromthetractionpump.Locateanddiscardthe
O-ring(item10inFigure151)fromthepumps.
C.Ifnecessary,removethe2locknuts(item42inFigure151)thatsecure
thepumpsupportbrackettothegearpump,andremovethebracketand
2atwashersfromthegearpump.
15.Ifnecessary,removethehydraulicttingsfromthepumps.Notethe
orientationofthettingsforassemblypurposes.
16.RemoveanddiscardalltheO-ringsfromthehydraulichosesandttings
thatwereremoved.
InstallingtheHydraulicPumpAssembly
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthepumps,lubricateandinstall
newO-ringstothettings.Installthettingsintothepumps;referto
InstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittinginto
theComponentPort)(page6–13).

IMPORTANT
Acasedrainexistsinthepiston(traction)pumpandasuctionport
isneartheinputshaftofthegearpump(Figure152).Beforethegear
pumpisinstalledtothepistonpump,ensurethattheplugsplacedin
eitheroftheseportsareremoved.Failuretoremovetheplugswill
causeexcessivepressureinthepistonpumpanddamageseals.
Also,beforesecuringthegearpumptopistonpump,llthepiston
pumphousingwithcleanhydraulicuidthroughcasedrainhole.
2.Removetheplugsthatwereplacedinthepistonpumpcasedrainandgear
pumpsuctionport.Fillthepistonpumphousingwithnewhydraulicuid
throughcasedrainhole.
3.Assemblethetractionandgearpumpsasfollows:
