10.Whilewatchingtesterpressuregauge,slowlyclosethetesterowcontrol
valveuntil5,500kPa(800psi)isobtainedongauge.Ensurethattheengine
speedremainsat3,000rpm.
Note:Ifenginespeedisnot3,000rpmduringthistest,pumpowwillbe
differentthanlistedGPM/LPM.
11.Identifygearpump(P3)owontester:
Flowtesterreadingtobe:Apump(P3)ingoodconditionshouldhaveaow
ofapproximately17.4L/minute(4.6gallons/minute)at5,500kPa(800psi).
12.Openthetesterowcontrolvalve,shutofftheengine,andrecordtestresults.
13.Ifowislessthan20L/minute(4gallons/minute)orapressureof5,500
kPa(800psi)cannotbeobtained,considerthatagearpumpproblemexists.
Checkforrestrictioninpumpintakeline.Ifpumpintakeisnotrestricted,
removegearpumpandrepairorreplacepumpasnecessary;referto
HydraulicPumpAssembly(page6–163)andServicingtheGearPump(page
6–169).
Note:Iftheowfromgearpump(P3)islow,theoperationofboththecharge
circuitandthesteeringcircuitwillbeaffected.

hydraulicsystempressure;refertoReleasingPressurefromtheHydraulic
