MachineFaults
TheMachineFaultT able(page7–33)identiesthefaultcodesthatare
generatedbytheT oroElectronicController(TEC)toidentifyanelectricalsystem
fault(malfunction)thatoccurredduringtheoperationofthemachine.Usethe
InfoCenterdisplaytoviewfaultsthathaveoccurredsincethefaultswerelast
clearedfromtheInfoCenter;refertoFaultsScreen(page7–16).
TheYanmarengineECUcanalsogenerateelectricalfaults.Thefaultsgenerated
bytheECUarespecictotheengine;refertoEngineFaults(page7–35).
Note:Faultcodesidentifyelectricalproblemsthattypicallywillpreventnormal
machineoperation.ForfaultcodesthatidentifyproblemswithTECinputs(e.g.,
switches,sensors),usetheInfoCenterdisplaytocheckthedifferentswitch
positionsbeforeremovingorreplacingthecomponent.Faultcodesthatidentify
problemswithTECoutputs(e.g.,solenoidcoils)mightinvolveissueswiththe
wireharnessortheactualoutputdevice.
UsingMachineFaults
Ifanelectricalfaultisidentiedbythemachinecontrollers(TECandcuttingunit
motors),theInfoCenterdisplaywillidentifythefaultcodenumberandwhen
thefaultoccurred.Anelectricalfaultcancausedisruptioninhowthemachine
functionsbutinsomeinstances,thefaultmayoccurwithlittle,ifany,change
inmachineoperation.Thefollowingsuggestionsshouldbeconsideredwhen
usingfaultcodesthataredisplayed.
IfafaultcodeisdisplayedontheInfoCenterandmachineoperationremains
normal,continuetousethemachine.Thefaultcodenumbercanberetrieved
inthefuturebyusingtheInfoCenterfaultsscreen.
IfafaultcodeisdisplayedontheInfoCenterandmachineoperationhas
changed,movethemachinetoalevelsurface,disengagethecuttingunits,
andturnthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition.LeavetheswitchintheOFF
positionfor30secondsandthenstartthemachine.Duringthissystemreboot
process,themachinecontrollersoftencanresettheelectricalcomponentsto
allownormalmachineoperation.Assumingthatthefaultcodeisnolonger
displayed,continuetousethemachine.Thefaultcodenumbercanbe
retrievedinthefuturebyusingtheInfoCenterfaultsscreen.
Thereisthepossibilitythatanelectricalissuecanresultwithseveralfault
codesbeinggenerated.Forexample,abrokenwireordamagedfusewould
preventoperationofacuttingunitmotorandmultiplefaultcodescouldbe
displayed.Reviewingthefaultcodedescriptionsshouldsuggestpossible
causesforthecircuitproblem.Usingtheelectricalschematicandelectrical
wireharnessdrawingswillalsohelpinproblemdiagnosis.
TheInfoCenterwilldisplayfaultcodenumbersasanindicationthatthe
machineelectricalsystemhasexperiencedanunusualchangethatmightbe
veryminorresultinginnochangeofthemachineoperationormoresevere
whichcouldpreventmachineuse.Usethefaultcodesinconjunctionwith
notingwhatmachineoperationshavechanged,whendidthechangeoccur,
andwhethertheproblemoccursallthetimeorisintermittenttohelpidentify
thesourceofamachineproblem.
TheInfoCenterfaultsscreencanbeusedtolistallmachineelectricalfaults
thathaveoccurredsincethefaultswerelastclearedfromtheInfoCenter.If
afaultthatislistedontheInfoCenterfaultsscreenoccurredatsomepoint
inthedistantpastandhasnotreoccurred,thatfaultislikelynotcausinga
currentmachineproblem.Recurringfaultsmayindicateaproblemwitha
particularcircuitorcomponent.

ontheInfoCenterdisplay,considercontactingyourToroDistributorfor
additionalassistance.
