8.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperatureby
operatingthemachineunderloadforapproximately10minutes.Donot
engagecuttingunits.
CAUTION
Adjacentcuttingunitreelswillrotatewhenperformingthecross-over
relieftest.Keepawayfromcuttingunitsduringtesttoprevent
personalinjuryfromrotatingreelblades.Donotstandinfrontof
themachine.
9.Onepersonshouldsitontheseatandoperatethemachinewhileasecond
personcloselymonitorsbothpressuregaugesconnectedtothereelmotor.
Ensurethattheenginespeedisatlowidleposition(1,200rpm)andengage
thecuttingunits.
10.Thereshouldbeaslighthesitationinpressureincreaseontheinletsideof
motorasthecross-overreliefvalveopens.Oncethereliefvalveisopen,
therewillbeapressuredifferentialbetweenthegaugesontheinletand
outletsideofthemotor.Notethispressuredifferencewhichshouldbe:
Pressuredifferentialbetweenthe2gaugesshouldbeapproximately
12,400kPa(1,800psi)
11.Disengagethecuttingunitsandshutofftheengine.Recordtestresults.
12.Ifthemeasuredpressuredifferentialisnotapproximately12,400kPa(1,800
psi),thecross-overreliefvalvesonthetestedmotormaybeleakingor
damaged.Inspectreliefvalvesinthereelmotor;refertoServicingtheCutting
ReelMotor(Casappa)(page6–204)).
13.Aftertestingiscompleted,ensurethattheengineisshutoff,thenrelieve
cuttingunithydraulicsystempressure;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page6–8).Removepressuregaugesandteettingsfrom
machine.Connecthydraulichosestoreelmotorttings.
14.Ifnecessary,testcross-overreliefpressureonothercuttingreelmotors.
