Subject: Slope Angle Indicator (100-4917) - Rework
Toro has received reports from the field of a few Reelmaster 3100-D side hill tipovers.
No injuries have been reported. Investigation by Toro personnel into these
circumstances indicated that in all cases the Reelmaster 3100-D was being used
beyond its intended application and the operator had failed to comply with Toro’s clearly
stated side hill maximum angle of 25 degrees.
All Reelmaster 3100-D products listed above will be reworked by having a Slope Angle
Indicator installed on the Steering Tube to increase the Operator’s awareness of the
terrain. See sample of Slope Indicator below. Additionally, customers will receive
information from Distributor Sales Personnel regarding appropriate safety precautions
and operating procedures.
