Single Pin Insertion Machines
The insertion of reeled press-fit or solder pins according to the
relevant application specification is excellently supported by our
Single Pin Insertion Machines program.
Precise insertion of Tyco Electronics as well as NON Tyco
Electronics products is assured by semi-automatic and fully-
automatic machines which we call P200, P 300 and P350.
Hereby the P200 is a semi-automatic, manually loaded bench
machine while the P300 is a fully-automatic in-line machine with
a large number of options providing superior output and quality.
The P350 is designed for even higher volumes than the P 300.

Insertion tool begins pressing
connector into PCB. By moni-
toring force in this region,
premature or missing force
can indicate incorrect tooling,
incorrect connector or even
a missing tool or connector.
The compliant section of the
connector begins to engage
the inner part of the PCB hole.
Monitoring of the minimum
and maximum force in this
region can assure that the
proper connector is being
applied, assure proper hole
size and help identify missing
or bent pins.
The compliant section is
completely engaged and the
majority of force seen is from
sliding friction. Some connec-
tors will see very linear forces
here that predict upcoming
press stroke completion.
The connector is fully seated
to the PCB surface. In this
region, monitoring and con-
trolling force with software
logic allows the connector to
be applied to the board with
as little force as is needed.
With proper control, variations in the PCB and connector can be
compensated for in real time to assure that each connector is
seated to the proper height with just the right amount of force.
