Description
Fire dampers represent passive re protection with the help of compartmentalization to prevent the spread of toxic
gases, smoke and re. All our standard re dampers are designed and certied in accordance with the EIS test criteria
according to EN 1366 – 2. A re damper together with its installation form an inseparable part of the re resistivity
rating. PKI-C re dampers are designed for installations listed on pages
6 through 10. Their installation is
described in the
User Manual for the PKI-C re dampers. As a standard, all the dampers are supplied:
- in a basic version
- or with a microswitch
- or with accessories (cover plates or exible duct coupling).
By default, PKI-C re dampers are supplied with manual control; an option is to add microswitches. In case of re,
the re damper is closed automatically. The PKI-C damper closes after the thermal fuse melts.
After the damper blade closes, it is mechanically locked in the closed position and can only be opened manually,
which requires maintenance staff to access into the duct. To improve the duct accessibility for re damper inspection
purposes, we supply a exible duct coupling as an accessory – labelled
TVK-PKIC in the “Ordering Code” section.
The actuating mechanism is activated when the air temperature in the duct reaches 72°C.

• PKI-C-EI90S: Circular re damper with a maximum re resistivity of 90 minutes and a single body design.
• PKI-C-EI120S: Circular re damper with a maximum re resistivity of 120 minutes and a single body design.
