Function:
Fail safe function active (1)
The fail safe function monitors the signal wire of the set value and reacts to a failure of the signal.
The function depends on the "Source set value" parameter (see 2.10):
Source set value = 0 (analogue input): Monitoring of the input for set value (potentiometer):
If the voltage at the set value input drops below the value in the "Potentiometer characteristic – limit for cable
break" parameter (see 2.39), the fan will automatically switch to the set value for fail safe function (see 2.36).
Source set value = 1 (RS485): Monitoring the RS485 bus interface:
If no command is sent to the fan for the time specified in the "fail safe function time lag" parameter (see 2.37)
the fan will automatically switch to the fail safe function set value (see 2.36).
The direction of rotation is simultaneously set to the value of "fail safe function running direction" (see 2.38).
Fail safe function inactive (0)
If the fail safe function is inactive, the signal wire for the set value is not monitored and is not switched to the
set value for fail safe function.
2.36 Fail safe function set value
Address : D15D
Write authorisation : ebm-papst, customer
If a failure of the set value signal is detected, the fan will automatically switch to the set value for fail safe
function given here. For more information about the function, see 2.35.
Encoding:
Remarks: The encoding corresponds to the encoding of the default set value (D001)
The 4 LSBits are of no relevance for the set value and will always be assumed to be 0.
a) in closed-loop speed control
The fail safe function set value denotes a speed:
]rpm[
64000
bytes Data
]rpm[set valuefunction safe Fail nMax
nMax [rpm] to maximum speed in revolutions per minute (see 2.23 Maximum speed)
The value zero means motor standstill
