This function enables you to set the recording length
simply by pressing the REC/OTR button on the VCR.
Please refer to the connection you are using,
through pages 10, 11, or 12 on "ANTENNA/CA-
BLE CONNECTIONS" before continuing.
You can not use the remote control for this func-
tion.
Be sure to check that the POWER and the VCR/TV
indicators are both on.
Turn on the TV and set the TV to channel
3 or4. Now set the CH3/CH4 switch on ]c_ ¢m
the back of the VCR to match the channel

Insert a cassette tape with its erase pre-
vention tab in place. (If necessary, rewind or fast for-
ward the tape to the point at which you want to begin
recording.)

NOTE: If you have a cable box or satellite box con-
nected to this VCR, please refer to "AN-
TENNA/CABLE CONNECTIONS" on pages
II and 12 before proceeding to the next step.
Press number buttons on the remote control or tile
CHANNEL or button.
Press the TAPE SPEED button to select the desired tape
speed (SP/SLP).
Press the REC/OTR button on ]
the VCR as many times as
needed. The recording length
will be determined by the num-
ber of times you press the REC/OTR button.
Each additional push will increase the recording time by
30 minutes. It can be set for up to 8 hours.
Recording starts immediately when the REC/OTR
button is pressed, whether you are watching the stone
or a different channel.
When the REC/OTR button is pressed 18 times, tile
VCR returns to the normal recording mode.
To stop the OTR operation, press the STOP button.
To show the remaining time, press the DISPLAY
button on the remote control so that "OTR" appears
on the TV screen. (It will show up momentarily then
disappear.)
Recording stops when 0:00 is reached.
Please note that in the SLP mode maximum record-
ing time, assuming the tape is started at the begin-
ning, is 8 hours using T- 160 (or 6 hours using T- 120).
The TV that is connected to your VCR may be turned
on or offduring OTR.
If the tape runs out befon'e the end time, the VCR will
switch to the Stop mode immediutely, eject tile tape
and turn power off.
