TNs unit can record on DVD=R and DVD=RW discs.
DVD-R discs allow you to record programs onHy
once, and the recorded contents cannot be erased.
DVD=RW discs aHHowyou to record programs
repeatedHy_and the recorded contents can be erased.
You can record programs on DVDoR discs onHy in
Video mode. wile recording format for DVD-RW
discs can be eitherVideo mode orVR mode.
Recording speed
You can seHect a recording speed among 6 opdons,
and the recording rime wiHH depend on the record°
ing speed you seHect as foHHows.
*Discs recorded in SLP or SEP on this
recorder may not be played back on other
DVD recorders or DVD pmayers.

,AboutVideo mode and VR (Video Recording)
mode:
Video mode is the same recording format as
DVD-Video discs purchased locally and
played back on most DVD players.
To play back the disc on other DVD players,
you will need to _namize the disc (see page
35). Before finalization,you can record addi=
tionaliy or edit disc with this unit°
VR (Video Recording) mode is a basic
recording format for DVD-RW. You can edit,
record and delete repeatedly.

DVD-RW/R and CD=R_CC/R discs recorded on a
personaH computer or a DVD or CD recorder
may not be pHayed bacH< if the disc is damaged or
dirt}/or if there is dirt of condensation on the
player's lens.
', If you record on a disc using a personaH computer,
there are cases in which it may not be pHayed bacH<
because of the settings of the appHicadon software
used to create the disc, even if it is recorded in a
compadbHe format. (Check with the software pub-
Hisher for more detaiHed information.)
', Discs recorded inVideo mode on this unit cannot
record addidonaHHy using other DVD recorders.
. A DVD=RVV disc formatted with this unit cannot be
used on other DVD recorders.
* Since the recording is made by the variable bit rate
(VBR) method, the actual remaining time for record°
ing may be a [itde bit shorter than the remaining
time displayed on the OSD, depending on the pic=
ture you are recording.
