UPON RECEIVING YOUR DOOR UNIT
•Inspectyourdoorunitimmediatelyandreportanydamagesordefectstothestoreinwhichyoumadeyourpurchase.
•Donotinstallanydoorunitthatisdefectiveandordamagedasinstallingsuchdoorwillvoidthewarranty.
•Anylaborcostswillnotbecoveredbythewarrantyafteradefectiveordamageddoorunithasbeeninstalled.
•Concealeddamageswillnotbecoveredafter48hoursofreceivingdoororoncethedoorunithasbeeninstalled.
STORAGEANDHANDLING
•Unnishedproductmustbenishedimmediatelypriortostorage
•Storeinawellventilatedarea.
•Deliverdoorunittothejobsiteonlyafterplaster,textureand/orcementisdry.
•Doorunitsstoredinexcessof60-dayspriortoinstallationwillvoidthewarranty.
MAINTENANCEFORUNFINISHEDWOODENTRYDOORS
•Doorslabsmustbenishedorprimedandpaintedonallsixsidesimmediately.
•Pre-hungdoorunitsmustbecompletelynishedorprimedandpaintedimmediately.
•Usegoodqualityoilbaseoracryliclatexpaints.
•Donotuseawaterbaseprimer.
•Ifpainting–Higherglosspaintswillofferbetterprotectionthan“at/lowgloss”paints.
•Ifstaining–Followthestainmanufacturer’sinstructionsandthemaintenanceinstructionslisted.
MAINTENANCEFORPRE-FINISHEDWOODENTRYDOORS
•Yournewdoorunitisanepieceoffurnitureandmustbemaintainedassuch.Exposuretotheelements(sun,rain,snow,sleetand
airpollutants)willcauseawellnisheddoorunittobeaffected.Thefollowingrequirementswillhelpyouunderstandthemaintenance
neededtoprotectyourinvestment.
•Directsunlightwillcausethenishonanydoorunittodeterioratefaster.
•Theentrywaymustprovideadequateprotectionagainsttheelements.SeeFigure1.
•Inspectyourdoorunitperiodically.Ifthetopcoathasbeendamagedorisshowingsignsofdeteriorationanadditionalapplicationof
topcoatwillneedtobeapplied.Whenchoosingatopcoat,werecommendapolyurethanesatinnish.Applyclearcoatpermanu-
facturinstructions.
•Dependingontheenvironment,thedoorunitwillneedtoberenishedperiodically.
The “Projection of Overhang” must measure a minimum of 1/2 the
height of the entryway. The “Side of Overhang” must measure a mini-
mum of three feet from the outside edge of the door unit. The over-
hang must provide protection of the door unit from direct exposure to
the elements.
• INSTALLATION OF A STORM DOOR WILL VOID WARRANTY!
• INSTALLING A WOOD DOOR IN ANY DIRECT SUNLIGHT
WILL VOID THE WARRANTY!
• LACK OF PROPER OVERHANG WILL VOID THE WARRANTY!
