CONNECTING MPT & FPT FITTINGS
1) Check local plumbing code prior to starting your project.
• Ensure you have the necessary tools and equipment for an air-tight installation.
2) Inspect both the male and femal connection points prior to assembly.
• Both should be free of debris, dirt, chips and excess oil or lubricant.
• If the threads are dented, replace the fitting. Otherwise, clean if excess lubricant
is present.
3) Apply the Thread Sealant
• Use a thread sealant that is quick-drying and vibration resistant.
• Mix the sealant thoroughly before applying it to the fitting.
• Using a stiff brush, apply the sealant to the MPT threads only. The sealant should be forced
to the lower chanels of the threading.
4) Joint Connection
• For all fittings that are 1/2-in diameter through 2-in diameter, using a wrench, make three full
turns past hand-tightening.
CAUTION:
Check local plumbing code prior to
starting the project.
