Customizing Your VAIO Computer

If you have set the power-on password, enter your power-on password for Enter Password.

3 Press the < or , key to select Security to display the Security tab, select Hard Disk Password, and then press the
Enter key.
The password entry screen appears.

4 Do either of the following depending on your model.
❑ Models with a single built-in storage device
Press the < or , key to select Security to display the Security tab, select Hard Disk Password, and then press
the Enter key.

❑ Models with two built-in storage devices
Press the < or , key to select Security to display the Security tab, select Hard Disk1 Password or Hard Disk2
Password, and then press the Enter key.

5 Select Enter Master and User Passwords and press the Enter key.
6 Select Continue on the warning screen and press the Enter key.
7 Enter the master password twice and press the Enter key.
The password should be up to 32 alphanumeric characters (including spaces) long.
8 Enter the user password twice and press the Enter key.
The password should be up to 32 alphanumeric characters (including spaces) long.
9 At the confirmation prompt, press the Enter key.
