Usage

The solenoid valve is used in multi zone extinguishing systems. It serves the control of the selector valve of the

corresponding extinguishing zone at multi zone plants with mechanical time delay devices and with pneumatic

horns.

Description

In stand by position the 3-2 way valve has no electrical potential at its solenoid, has no pilot pressure at its ports

and is closed. The back pressure is vented.

Manual activation is not possible.

A LED within the plug informs about electrical activation status.

Used as selector control valve: Due to fire detection in an extinguishing zone and an extinguishing command from

the central unit the corresponding selector control valve is undelayed activated and opens. The control gas flows

towards the pneumatic horn(s) and via an (optional) blocking device to the drive gear of the corresponding selector

valve of the corresponding zone.

From the valve outlet port 2 gas flows also via an internal connection backwards to the activation port. This pneumatic reaction coupling (feedback) stays also when the electrical power to the solenoid is switched off. It opens not until the gas pressure on the valve inlet port 1 is at zero pressure. Installation guidelines Location Used as selector control valve: The inlet side corresponds to the gas pressure from the control cylinder reduced by a pressure reduction station. The outlet port is connected to the pneumatic horn(s) and (optional blocking device) and from there to the drive gear of the corresponding selector valve. Warning! Do not disassemble the valve body. Valves could sustain damage or their function is impeded and they do not actuator. Tubes must be laid out without tension.

Maintenance guidelines Warning! Removal, replacement or repair of the valve or actuator seals by any party other than Siemens is prohibited. To ensure that a selector control valve will remain functional following long periods of inactivity, it must be operated pneumatically at least every year. Maintenance requirements Valves are to be subject to routine maintenance and inspection. 1. 2. 3. Visually check for the collection of excessive amounts of dirt or contamination. Clean as required.
