INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Model FS-CT2
Laptop Configuration Tool
The Model FS-CT2 Laptop Configuration Tool is an optional accessory for the FS-250 or FS-250C Fire
Alarm System Control Panel. The Configuration Tool provides the capability for programming the control
panel from a computer through a RS232 serial port. The control panel parameters may be uploaded to
the computer, modified and downloaded to the control panel. This allows the user to edit the parameters
in a Windows environment, save the parameters on a disk and send the parameters to the control panel.
The software also allows the event history to be viewed and saved on a disk.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
1. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. If the setup program does not start
automatically after a few seconds, click
Start, then Run…, then type <your CD-
ROM drive letter>:\setup.exe and click OK.
RUNNING THE SOFTWARE
1. Select Start>Programs>FS-CT2
Programming Utility.
2. Create a new project or open an existing
project.
3. Click the Connect tab, then the Connect
button to establish communication with the
panel.
4. Enter your tech password and click log on”.
5. Use the “configuration” menu to download a
configuration to the panel, upload a
configuration from the panel or perform
other similar operations.
NOTE: If a “Port already open” message is displayed, a
program (i.e. FS-CT2, fax software, laptop sync software)
may be using the Com Port. The program will need to be
closed before the Com Port can be used. Press
Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open the Close Program dialog box.
Select program to close and then select End Task.
NOTE: Select Help>View Quick Start for programming
details.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
1.) Plug modular connector of cable assembly
into the Com Port on the front of the control
panel.
2.) Plug DB9 female connector of cable
assembly into computer serial port.
