(see page 54) You can do nothing with the camcorder. ◆ Mechanical fault might have occurred. (see page 56) A vertical stripe appears when you shoot a bright subject against a dark background. (candle flame, for example) ◆ The contrast between the subject and the background is too great for the camcorder to operate normally.

In this condition, the tape may stick to the head drum and be damaged or the unit may not operate correctly. To prevent possible damage under these circumstances, the camcorder has the built-in moistur sensor.
