Sending SMS Messages to a User Account
Some SMS reception devices can manage several user ac-
counts. You can send an SMS message to a specifi c user
of a device in the following manner:
1 Press

, select SEND SMS and confi rm with
OK. Enter the text that you would like to send, as
described under Sending SMS Messages.
2 Press
W
and enter the number.
3 Press OK and enter the name of the recipient’s user
account.
4 Press
W
to send the SMS message.
SMS Settings
(Depending on country and telephone network)
If you have set the country in which you will be operat-
ing your fax machine with function 11, the machine will
automatically select the correct SMS settings (see the
chapter entitled Settings / Setting the Country). If you
would like to use diff erent settings, you can change these
with functions 35 and 36.
Numbers of the SMS Center
e numbers that you need in order to send and receive
SMS messages are stored under SMS centers. If you
should require other numbers, you can change these with
function 36. In case of doubt, you should ask your tele-
phone provider for the correct information.
1 Press MENU/OK,

2 Select send n° and confi rm with OK. Enter the
number through which your fax machine should
send SMS messages. Confi rm with OK.
3 Select receive n° and confi rm with OK. Enter
the number through which your fax machine should
receive SMS messages. Confi rm with OK. Pressing
C will return you to the previous menu step; pressing
STOP will return you to the root menu.
You can also receive SMS messages through a second
service provider. Select SMS center 2 and confi rm
with OK. Change the number for reception, as described
under step 3. Pressing C will return you to the previous
menu step; pressing STOP will return you to the root
menu.
Turning Off the Automatic Printing
Received SMS messages are printed out automatically.
You have the option of turning this function off .
1 Press MENU/OK,

and OK.
2 Select auto print and confi rm with OK. Indi-
cate whether you would like to turn the automatic
printing option on or off by selecting with
¾
.
3 Confi rm with OK. Pressing C will return you to the
previous menu step; pressing STOP will return you
to the root menu.
Notification Tone
You will hear a notifi cation tone whenever an SMS mes-
sage has arrived. You have the option of turning this
function off .
1 Press MENU/OK,

2 Select beep sms and confi rm with OK. Indicate
whether you would like to turn the notifi cation tone
on or off by selecting with
¾
.
3 Confi rm with OK. Pressing C will return you to the
previous menu step; pressing STOP will return you
to the root menu.
Name of the Sender
You can set whether or not your name should be sent
with each SMS message—identifying you as the sender.
You can store your name with function 14 (see the chap-
ter entitled Settings / Entering Your Telephone Number
and Name).

2 Select sender name and confi rm with OK. Use

to select whether or not to send your name
with each SMS message.
3 Confi rm with OK. Pressing C will return you to the
previous menu step; pressing STOP will return you
to the root menu.
Notification
If the notifi cation function is activated, you will receive
an SMS notifi cation as soon as your SMS message has
been delivered to the recipient.
