.DESCRIPTION AND USES .
OKON
®
Multi-Surface Water Repellent Sealer is an easy-
to-use multi-surface water repellent and sealer. It helps
protect porous concrete or wood from the damaging
effects of water absorption. Water is a major cause of
premature deterioration of many building materials. In
concrete, water causes efflorescence, mold, freeze-thaw
damage, dusting and staining. In wood, water absorption
causes splitting, cracking, warping rotting and mold.
Multi-Surface helps prevent these occurrences by
significantly reducing water absorption.
Multi-Surface is an acrylic/siloxane blend that provides
protection long after the initial water-beading action has
ended. A single application can last one to three years and
can be easily refreshed with another application.

.PRODUCT APPLICATION .
SURFACE PREPARATION
Multi-Surface requires minimal surface preparation. It can
be applied to most porous surfaces that are clean, free of
dirt, waxes and oils, non-glossy surfaces and free from
sub-surface moisture.
Porous: Test the porosity of the surface by sprinkling with
water. If the surface turns dark as the water is absorbed
Multi-Surface can be applied.
Clean: Sweep and hose-off exterior surfaces; vacuum and
damp-mop interior surfaces. Use a degreaser to remove
oil or grease stains. Use Jomax
®
to remove exterior
mildew and a wood brightener to remove gray weathered
wood fibers.

Sub-surface moisture: Do not apply to interior floors where
sub-surface moisture is present. To test for moisture,
conduct a test by simply taping a piece of 4 mil plastic
sheet 18" by 18" on the bare concrete for 24 hours. Be
sure to tape all four sides. After 24 hours, check the
concrete for signs of moisture. The concrete will be darker
if damp. A dark surface under the plastic indicates
moisture and Multi-Surface should not be applied: Exterior
pitted concrete, exposed aggregate and sandstone,
absorb and hold moisture unless totally sealed. Multi-
Surface should not be used on these surfaces in areas
where freezing occurs. New concrete must be cured for 28
days prior to coating. The surface must be thoroughly
rinsed if applied over acid stain or if surface was acid
etched. Un-rinsed acid salts may cause whitish-blotches to
appear.
APPLICATION
Multi-Surface is ready-to-use, no thinning is required.
It can be applied by brush, roller or garden-type sprayer.
Do not pour product onto surface to spread. Apply a
uniform wet coat at the estimated spread rate. It appears
milky-white when applied but dries clear. Material that is
not absorbed should be back rolled or brushed out to
avoid build up. Do not allow puddles, drips or runs to dry
on the surface. Multi-Surface may slightly darken the
surface and add a slight sheen. Stop application at
expansion joints, walls or breaks defined with masking
tape. The surface temperature at time of application is
very important.
COVERAGE
The spread-rate of OKON Multi-Surface Water Repellent
Sealer will vary with the porosity and texture of the surface.
A second coat may be applied if the surface is still
absorbent.
CLEAN UP
Clean hands and tools with soapy water. Drips and runs
that have dried may be removed using a strong solvent
within 24 hours after application. After that time sanding
may be necessary.
LIMITATIONS
Do not use on driveways, flagstone, or non-porous
surfaces. OKON Multi-Surface Water Repellent Sealer
does not provide protection against hydrostatic water
pressure, wind driven rain, or efflorescence. Tinting Multi-
Surface is not recommended. Use OKON W-2 or OKON
Plugger on light weight or split face block.
