A NOTICE is a special note used to call attention to a particularly important point. CAUTION is used to point out a procedure or operation which may cause equipment damage. The WARNING notice is the most important of the three because it warns of an operation that may cause personal injury.

Chapter 3: Service, Maintenance, And Adjustments This chapter provides the qualified technician with the troubleshooting and replacement procedures necessary to service the counter top cooker. If your cooker does not perform properly after performing maintenance, contact your authorized service center. For repair, maintenance, or an explanation of any procedure, contact your dealer, local service company, the factory representative in your area, or the factory.
WARNING DANGER - HIGH VOLTAGE PRESENT NEVER remove fuses from the cooker until the cooker is unplugged from the facility power supply. a. To check and replace heating element fuses: 1. Unplug the cooker from facility power source. 2. Remove screw to fuse access door on back panel of the cooker. 3. The heating element fuses are mounted in a fuse holder located behind the rear access panel. 4. Remove each fuse by gently pulling the fuse straight out of the holder using a fuse puller. 5.
3.3 REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES These procedures are provided as a guide to removal and replacement of various cooker components. If a test is required to verify component operation after installation, the test will be referenced. WARNING To prevent burns, always ensure the cooker is completely SHUT DOWN and COOLED down before performing any work. WARNING The power supply must be disconnected before servicing or cleaning the cooker. 3.3.1 Thermostat Replacement a.
m. Reinstall the front panel. n. Close drain. o. Close the door. p. Reconnect the cooker to the facility power source. 3.3.2 Limit Control Replacement The limit control includes a temperature sensor inside the tank, a control unit inside the cooker cabinet, and connecting capillary tubing. CAUTION The limit control capillary tubing is very delicate. Be VERY CAREFUL when working with the capillary tubing. The limit control is no longer usable if the tubing is kinked or broken. a.
l. Reinstall the front panel. NOTE Use approved pipe joint compound on the large fitting before installing to prevent water leakage. DO NOT use joint compound on the small nut. m. Install the large connector nut on the tank and tighten. n. Carefully reshape the capillary tubes. o. Place the probe in the clamp. p. Rescrew the two screws into the probe clamp. q. Screw the small hex nut inside the cabinet at the front of the tank for the limit control. r. Replace the element rack assembly. s.
l. Replace the two (2) nuts and tighten them. m. Reconnect the wires. n. Replace the limit control bulb clamp. o. Replace the element support bar. p. Reinstall the front panel. q. Reconnect the cooker to the power source. 3.4 TESTING RELAYS AND CONTACTORS Contactors and relays use a control voltage to energize an electro magnet which closes a set of contacts. The control voltage is applied to a solenoid type coil.
b. Use an ohmmeter to measure the continuity across thew thermostat wires. c. The thermostat should be closed (0 ohms) below 195°F and open (× ohms) above 195°F. d. If the thermostat is defective, replace it. e. Reinstall the front panel. f. Reconnect the cooker to the facility power source.
3.7 TROUBLESHOOTING This section is provided to aid troubleshooting in the event of cooker failure. If this troubleshooting guide does not help correct the problem, contact a qualified technician.
