Your new Glass by Philips toaster is simple to use, easy to clean and, above all,
fascinating to look at as it features a removable hood made entirely of glass.

Read these instructions for use carefully before using the toaster and
save them for future reference.
◗ This toaster is only intended for household use. It is not intended for
commercial or industrial use.
◗ The toaster is only meant for toasting bread. Do not put any other ingredients
in the toaster, as this may lead to a hazardous situation.
◗ Oversized foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted into the
toaster, as this may cause fire or electric shock.
◗ If a slice of bread gets stuck inside the toaster, remove the mains plug from the
wall socket and let the toaster cool down, then take off the glass hood and
carefully remove the slice from the toaster.
Be careful not to damage the heating elements while removing the slice of bread.
Never use a metal object for this purpose.
◗ The toaster must not be operated under or near curtains or other flammable
materials or under wall cabinets to avoid the risk of fire. Please note that bread
may burn.
◗ Immediately unplug the toaster if fire is observed.
◗ Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to
the mains voltage in your home before you connect the appliance.
◗ Avoid touching the glass hood, as it gets very hot during toasting. Only touch
the controls and lift the toaster and the accessories by the handgrips.
◗ Make sure the toaster has completely cooled down before cleaning it and
before assembling or removing any parts.
The heating elements take longer to cool down than the glass hood.
◗ Do not immerse the toaster or the mains cord in water or any other liquid.
The bread basket, the warming rack and the glass hood can be cleaned in the
dishwasher or in hot water with some washing-up liquid.
◗ Keep the toaster out of the reach of children and do not let them play with it.
Never let the toaster operate unattended.
◗ Unplug the toaster before cleaning. Remove the plug by gripping the plug body
and pulling it from the socket. Never yank or twist the cord.
◗ Do not use this toaster if the mains plug, the mains cord or the toaster itself is
damaged.
◗ Do not place the toaster on a hot surface.
◗ Place the glass hood properly on its base. If the hood has not been placed
properly on the base, the safety switches will prevent the toaster from
operating. If the glass hood is removed during operation, the toaster will stop
working immediately (for instructions see chapter 'Toasting bread').

1 Remove any stickers and wipe the glass hood and the body of the toaster
with a damp cloth.
2 Make sure the glass hood is properly placed on its base (fig. 2).
If the glass hood has not been placed properly on the base, the safety switches will
prevent the toaster from operating.
3 You can adjust the length of the cord by pushing excess cord into the base of
the toaster.
4 Let the first toasting cycle take place at browning level 1 without inserting
any bread to preheat the new elements and burn off any dust that may have
accumulated during storage.
If the toaster has not been used for 10 minutes it will go into sleep mode, which
means that all pilot lights go out.
Toasting bread IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
1 Put the toaster on a stable and flat surface, away from curtains and other
combustible materials. Insert the plug into the wall socket.
The appliance will automatically select browning level 4 and the pilot light of this
level goes on (fig. 3).
2 Lift the bread basket out of the toaster by means of the handgrips (fig. 4).
Avoid touching the metal parts, as they get hot during toasting.
3 Open the bread basket by squeezing the handgrips together and put the
slice(s) of bread in the basket (fig. 5).
If you put the bread in the basket carefully, the bread will automatically end up in the
centre of the basket.
4 Close the bread basket by releasing the handgrips and reinsert the basket
into the toaster (fig. 6).
Make sure you put the bread basket in the centre of the toaster for a good toasting
result.The grooves in the toaster base make the basket fall into place.
5 Select the desired browning level by pressing the corresponding button
(fig. 7).
- Select a low browning level (1-2) for lightly toasted bread.
- Select a high browning level (5-7) for darkly toasted bread.
The pilot light of the selected browning level goes on when the button is pressed.
6 Press the start/cancel button › to start toasting (fig. 8).
The heating elements will start moving back and forth to toast the bread.
The higher the selected browning level, the more movements the heating elements
will make.
You can stop the toasting process at any time by pressing the start/cancel button ›.
If the glass hood is removed during operation, the toaster will switch off immediately.
When you put the hood back onto the base, you will have to reset the toaster by
pressing the start/cancel button ›, upon which the heating elements will return to
their starting position. Now you can start toasting again.
- When the toasted bread is ready, the toaster switches off automatically and the
heating elements return to their starting position, at the far right or left of the
toaster.
- If you think your toast is ready before the heating elements have stopped
moving, you can also stop the toasting process by pressing the start/cancel
button ›.
7 Remove the bread basket from the toaster after the heating elements have
stopped moving (fig. 9).
8 Squeeze the handgrips of the bread basket together and turn the basket
upside down over your plate to remove the toasted bread from the basket
(fig. 10).
Avoid touching the metal parts, as they get hot during toasting.
You can continue toasting at the same browning level, because the toaster
remembers the last selected browning level.

1 Follow the instructions in the chapter 'Toasting bread'. Select browning level 1

Ideal for bagels and baguettes
1 Cut the bagel or baguette lengthwise and shorten the baguette to a length of
max. 13 cm.
2 Put the two halves in the bread basket as described in the chapter 'Toasting
bread'.The side to be toasted has to face the front heating element of the
toaster (fig. 13).
3 Select the desired browning level by pressing the corresponding button.
- Select a low browning level (1-2) for lightly toasted bread.
- Select a high browning level (5-7) for darkly toasted bread.
The pilot light of the selected browning level goes on when the button is pressed.
4 Press the one-side toasting button ‹ (fig. 14).
The pilot light goes on.
You can also use this function in combination with the function for toasting frozen
bread.
5 Press the start/cancel › button to switch the toaster on.
6 You have to press the one-side toasting button ‹ before every new one-side
toasting cycle.
Heating up rolls or croissants IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
1 Remove the bread basket from the toaster.
2 Mount the warming rack onto the toaster (fig. 15).
Never put the rolls or croissants to be warmed directly on top of the toaster
without the warming rack to avoid damaging the toaster.
3 Put the rolls or croissants in the centre of the warming rack (fig. 16).
Do not warm more than 2 items at a time.
4 Select browning level 4 or 5 ¬ (fig. 17).
5 Press the start/cancel › button to switch the toaster on.
If you want to heat the rolls or croissants on both sides, turn them after the toaster
has switched itself off and switch the toaster on again.

1 Let the toaster cool down.
Be careful: the heating elements take longer to cool down than the glass hood.
2 Remove the bread basket or the warming rack from the toaster.
3 Unplug the toaster.
4 Carefully remove the glass hood from the toaster (fig. 18).
5 Remove crumbs from the toaster by cleaning the base with a moist cloth.
Do not hold the toaster upside down and do not shake it to remove crumbs.
6 You can clean the glass hood, the bread basket and the warming rack with a
moist cloth, in the dishwasher or with hot water with some washing-up
liquid.
7 You can store the cord by pushing it into the base of the toaster.
Sleep mode IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
If the toaster has not been used for 10 minutes, it will go into sleep mode, which
means that all pilot lights go out.
You can reactivate the toaster by pressing any button.The pilot light of the last
selected browning level will go on again.

Solution
Check if the plug has been inserted into
the wall socket properly.
Check if the glass hood has been placed
on the base properly.
Follow the instructions in the chapter
'Toasting bread'.
Almost every common type of bread can
be toasted in this toaster. It is even possible
to toast baguettes or bagels by using the
one-side toasting function. If the bread is
too thick for the toaster, it should be sliced.
The one-side toasting function has been
activated, see the chapter 'Toasting one
side only'.

El nuevo tostador Glass de Philips es fácil de utilizar, fácil de limpiar y, sobre todo, dan
ganas de quedarse mirándolo todo el día ya que incorpora una cubierta extraíble
hecha completamente de cristal.

Antes de utilizar el aparato lea cuidadosamente estas instrucciones y consérvelas por
si necesitara consultarlas en el futuro.
◗ El tostador está diseñado sólo para uso doméstico, no para uso comercial o
industrial.
◗ El tostador se debe utilizar únicamente para tostar pan. No ponga otros
ingredientes en el tostador, ya que puede provocar una situación peligrosa.
◗ No se deben introducir en el tostador alimentos demasiado grandes, utensilios
ni envases de aluminio, ya que se podría provocar un incendio o un
cortocircuito.
◗ Si una rebanada de pan se quedara atascada en el interior del tostador,
desenchufe el aparato de la pared y deje que se enfríe. A continuación, retire la
cubierta de cristal y extraiga con cuidado la rebanada de pan.
Tenga cuidado de no dañar los elementos calefactor cuando saque el pan. Nunca
utilice objetos de metal para ello.
◗ El tostador no debe funcionar cerca o debajo de cortinas, materiales inflamables
o armarios de cocina para evitar el riesgo de incendio.Tenga en cuenta que el
pan se puede quemar.
◗ Desenchufe inmediatamente el aparato si observa fuego.
◗ Antes de conectar el aparato, compruebe que el voltaje que se indica en la
parte inferior de aparato se corresponde con el de su casa.
◗ No toque la cubierta de cristal, ya que se calienta mucho cuando el tostador
está en funcionamiento.Toque sólo los botones y levante el tostador y los
accesorios por las asas.
◗ Asegúrese de que el tostador está completamente frío antes de limpiarlo y de
colocar o quitar piezas.
El elemento calefactor tarda más tiempo en enfriarse que la cubierta de cristal.
◗ No sumerja el tostador ni el cable en agua u otro líquido.
La cesta del pan, la rejilla de calentamiento y la cubierta de cristal se pueden lavar en
el lavavajillas o con agua caliente con detergente líquido.
◗ Mantenga el tostador fuera del alcance de los niños y no les permita jugar con
él. El tostador nunca debe funcionar sin vigilancia.
◗ Desenchufe el tostador antes de limpiarlo. Para desenchufar el aparato, sujete el
cuerpo de la clavija y tire de él. Nunca tire del cable ni lo retuerza.
◗ No utilice el tostador si la clavija, el cable o el aparato están deteriorados.
◗ No coloque el tostador sobre una superficie caliente.
◗ Coloque bien la cubierta de cristal en la base. Si la cubierta no se ha colocado
correctamente, los dispositivos de seguridad impedirán que el aparato funcione.
Si se quita la cubierta de cristal mientras el tostador está en funcionamiento,
éste dejará de funcionar inmediatamente (para ver las instrucciones, consulte el
capítulo 'Cómo tostar pan').

1 Quite todas las pegatinas y limpie la cubierta de cristal y el cuerpo del
tostador con un paño húmedo.
2 Asegúrese de que la cubierta de cristal está bien colocada en la base (fig. 2).
Si la cubierta de cristal no se ha colocado correctamente, los dispositivos de
seguridad impedirán que el tostador funcione.
3 Puede ajustar la longitud del cable introduciendo el exceso de cable en la
base del tostador.
4 Deje que el tostador complete un ciclo en el nivel de tostado 1 sin introducir
pan, para precalentar las piezas nuevas y quemar el polvo que se pueda haber
acumulado.
Si el tostador no se utiliza durante 10 minutos, quedará en modo "espera" y todos
los pilotos se apagarán.

1 Coloque el tostador en una superficie plana y estable, alejado de cortinas u
otro material combustible. Inserte la clavija en la toma de corriente.
El aparato seleccionará automáticamente el nivel de tostado 4 y el piloto de este
nivel se encenderá (fig. 3).
2 Saque la cesta del pan del tostador utilizando las asas (fig. 4).
No toque las piezas metálicas, ya que se calientan mucho durante el funcionamiento.
3 Para abrir la cesta del pan apriete las asas y coloque la(s) rebanada(s) de pan
en la cesta (fig. 5).
Si coloca el pan en la cesta con cuidado, el pan terminará automáticamente en el
centro de la cesta.
4 Para cerrar la cesta, suelte las asas y vuelva a colocar la cesta en el tostador
(fig. 6).
Asegúrese de que pone la cesta del pan en el centro del tostador para obtener
buenos resultados. Las ranuras de la base del tostador permiten que la cesta se
coloque en su sitio.
5 Seleccione el nivel de tostado deseado pulsando el botón correspondiente
(fig. 7).
- Seleccione un nivel de tostado bajo (1-2) para tostar poco el pan.
- Seleccione un nivel de tostado alto (5-7) para tostar mucho el pan.
El piloto del nivel seleccionado se enciende cuando se pulsa el botón.
6 Pulse el botón de Marcha/Parada › para comenzar a tostar (fig. 8).
El elemento calefactor se moverá hacia delante y hacia atrás para tostar el pan.
Cuanto mayor sea el nivel de tostado seleccionado, más se moverá el elemento
calefactor.
Puede parar el proceso de tostado en cualquier momento pulsando el botón de
Marcha/Parada ›.
Si se quita la cubierta de cristal mientras el aparato está en funcionamiento, éste se
desconectará inmediatamente. Cuando vuelva a colocar la cubierta en la base,
tendrá que volver a conectar el tostador pulsando el botón de Marcha/Parada ›
Entonces el elemento calefactor volverá a su posición inicial.Ahora podrá comenzar
a tostar de nuevo.
- Cuando el pan tostado está listo, el tostador se desconecta automáticamente y
el elemento calefactor vuelve a su posición inicial, en el extremo derecho o
izquierdo del tostador.
- Si piensa que la tostada ya está lista antes de que el elemento calefactor se
detenga, puede parar también el proceso de tostado pulsando el botón de
Marcha/Parada ›.
7 Saque la cesta del pan del tostador después de que el elemento calefactor se
haya detenido (fig. 9).
8 Apriete las asas de la cesta y vuélquela sobre el plato para sacar el pan (fig. 10).
No toque las piezas metálicas, ya que se calientan mucho mientras el aparato está
en funcionamiento.
Puede seguir tostando con el mismo nivel, porque el aparato memoriza el último
nivel seleccionado.

1 Siga las instrucciones del capítulo 'Cómo tostar pan'. Seleccione el nivel de
tostado 1 Ø y pulse el botón de Marcha/Parada › (fig. 12).

Ideal para bollos y barras de pan
1 Corte el bollo o la barra por la mitad, a lo largo, y córtelo en trozos de
13 cm. como máximo.
2 Coloque las dos mitades en la cesta tal y como se describe en el capítulo
'Cómo tostar pan'. El lado que se va a tostar tiene que mirar hacia el lado de
calentamiento del tostador (fig. 13).
3 Seleccione el nivel de tostado deseado pulsando el botón correspondiente.
- Seleccione un nivel de tostado bajo (1-2) para tostar poco el pan.
- Seleccione un nivel de tostado alto (5-7) para tostar mucho el pan.
El piloto del nivel seleccionado se enciende cuando se pulsa el botón.
4 Pulse el botón de tostado por un solo lado ‹ (fig. 14).
La lámpara piloto se iluminará.
Puede utilizar está función combinándola con la función para tostar pan congelado.
5 Pulse el botón de Marcha/Parada › para conectar el tostador.
6 Tiene que pulsar el botón de tostado por un solo lado ‹ cada vez que
comience un nuevo ciclo de tostado por un solo lado.

1 Saque la cesta del tostador.
2 Coloque la rejilla de calentamiento en el tostador (fig. 15).
No coloque nunca los bollos o croissants directamente sobre el tostador, sin la rejilla
de calentamiento, para no dañar el aparato.
3 Ponga los bollos o croissants en el centro de la rejilla de calentamiento (fig. 16).
No caliente más de dos bollos a la vez.
4 Seleccione el nivel de tostado 4 ó 5 ¬ (fig. 17).
5 Pulse el botón de Marcha/Parada › para conectar el tostador.
Si quiere calentar los bollos o croissants por ambos lados, déles la vuelta cuando se
haya desconectado automáticamente el tostador y conéctelo de nuevo.

1 Deje que se enfríe el tostador.
Tenga cuidado: el elemento calefactor tarda más en enfriarse que la cubierta de
cristal.
2 Retire la cesta del pan o la rejilla de calentamiento del tostador.
3 Desenchufe el tostador.
4 Retire con cuidado la cubierta de cristal del tostador (fig. 18).
5 Quite las migas del tostador limpiando la base con un paño húmedo.
No vuelque el tostador ni lo sacuda para quitar las migas.
6 Puede limpiar la cubierta de cristal, la cesta del pan y la rejilla de
calentamiento con un paño húmedo, en el lavavajillas o con agua caliente y un
poco de detergente líquido.
7 Puede recoger el cable introduciéndolo en la base del tostador.

Si no se usa el tostador durante 10 minutos, éste quedará en modo de espera y
todos los pilotos se apagarán.
Puede volver a activar el tostador pulsando cualquier botón. El piloto del último nivel
de tostado seleccionado se volverá a encender.

Si el tostador o el cable están deteriorados, deberán ser sustituidos siempre en un
centro de servicio autorizado por Philips.

Compruebe que la clavija está
correctamente colocada en el enchufe.
Compruebe si ha colocado
correctamente la cubierta de cristal en

En este aparato se pueden tostar casi
todos los tipos de pan. Incluso se
pueden tostar barras de pan o bollos
utilizando la función para tostar por un
solo lado. Si el pan es demasiado grueso
para el tostador, córtelo a lo largo.
