Welcome mode EN Before using your CD 135, you need to configure it according to the country of use. Install the batteries. After a few minutes of charge, the Welcome screen appears. 1. Press . 2. Browse through the different countries. 3. Press to confirm the country that suits you. Your phone is ready to be used. If you need to re-configurate your CD 135, see page 33. Important information EN For your safety Before installing your CD 135, carefully read the following informations: Power requirements > This product requires an electrical supply of 220-240 volts, alternating monophased power, excluding IT installations defined in standard EN 60950. In case of power failure, the communication can be lost. Warning ! The electrical network is classified as hazardous according to criteria in the standard EN 60950.

Press the key until the handset starts to ring. Once retrieved, press paging key again to end paging.
Icons on the handset display EN The display gives information about the operation of your telephone. Following icons can be shown in the headline of the display: When being used for the first time, it is sometimes necessary to wait until the battery is sufficiently charged before the icons appear on the display. When ON the battery is fully charged. When blinking, this symbol indicates that the battery needs to be charged. An external call is in progress.
Installing the base station EN Installing the base station Place your product close enough to the telephone and mains power sockets so that the cables will reach. To properly install the base station, plug the line cord and the power cable into the base station. Plug the cord and the cable into the wall.
Installing the batteries EN Installing and replacing the batteries in the handset To insert the batteries, open the battery cover, place the batteries as indicated and then replace the battery cover. When the battery icon is blinking, charge is needed. Allow 24 hours for the batteries to fully charge. On first use it may be necessary to wait for a few minutes before seeing symbols on the display. Warning : the base station must always be plugged into the mains when charging or when in use.
Using GAP standard compliance EN To register a handset of another make to the CD135 base station, place the base station into registration mode (page 31), then follow the procedure in the manufacturer’s instructions. Text or number entry EN You can enter the names of your phonebook entries character by character, pressing the corresponding key as many times as necessary to reach the desired character. Press under the label to delete a character.
Call EN Answering a call / Hanging up 1. When the phone rings, press to answer the call. 2. To end the conversation, press key or replace the handset on the base station. Note: If you have activated the Auto Answer Mode (see page 28) simply lift-up the handset from the base or charger to answer a call. flashes on an incoming call. WARNING : When the handset rings during an incoming call, please do not hold the handset too close to your ear as the volume of the ringing tone may damage your hearing.
Call EN To switch the handset loudspeaker ON / OFF (call handsfree) Note: 5 loudspeaker volumes are available. indicates the loudspeaker is ON. 1. Press 2 times to activate the handset loudspeaker. 2. Press again to deactivate the loudspeaker. Warning : Handsfree activation could suddenly increase the volume in the loudspeaker to a very high level. Make sure the handset is not too close to your ear.

Call log EN This feature is available if you have registered to the caller identification service with your operator. Using the Intercom EN This function can only be used with a multi-handset configuration. It allows you to make free internal calls, transfer external calls from one handset to another and to use the conference option. Note: Intercom & call transfer is only possible with handsets registered to the same base station. Internal call 1. Press 2. Other functions EN Paging This feature allows you to locate the handset(s). Press on the base station. All the subscribed handsets ring. Press any key on the handset to stop ringing once relocated. Chain Dialing If you have entered in your phonebook for example only the main number of a company without the extension, this feature allows you to add the subnumber (extension) of a particular person and to dial out this number. 1. Personal settings EN To activate / deactivate the auto answer mode If ON you take the line by lifting the handset from the charge cradle. 1. Press and press Down to reach PERSONAL SET. 2. Advanced settings EN To change the dial mode* *Country dependent The default value of dial mode that is preset in your CD 135 should be the best suited for your country network and therefore you should not need to change it. 1. Advanced settings EN 5. Scroll to select the barring number location 1, 2, 3 or 4 and press 6. Enter the barring number . (the maximums for the barring number is 4 digits) and press to confirm. Advanced settings EN To set or change an SOS number The SOS number feature allows you to enter 3 SOS phone numbers, which can be dialed out although the call barring is activated. The maximum length of an SOS number is 4 digits. The PIN code is required when modify the SOS number. 1. Press and press Down to reach ADVANCE SET. 2. Press and press Down to reach SOS NUMBER. 3. Advanced settings EN To unregister a handset 1. Press and press Down to reach ADVANCE SET. 2. Press and press Down to reach UNREGISTER. 3. Press , enter the PIN code (by default the PIN code is 0000) and press . 4. Scroll to select the handset number and press . UNREGISTERED appears on the screen. Note: If you have your handset serviced, please make sure it is unregistered from the base station before taking it back to the repair centre.
Advanced settings EN Country selection Use this feature if you need to re-configurate your CD 135. 1. Press and press Down to reach ADVANCE SET. 2. Press and press Down to reach COUNTRY SEL.. 3. Browse through the different countries and press that suits you. 4. CONFIRM? is shown, press to select the country to confirm.
Answer machine EN The CD 135 includes an answer machine that records unanswered calls when it is activated. The maximum recording time is 15 minutes, outgoing messages and memos included. The answer machine is accessible via the handset that has a dedicated keypad allowing to access to the answer machine functions (by default handset 1). There is also a menu to set the answer machine options.
Answer machine EN To switch the answer machine OFF Press , then on the handset to switch the answer machine OFF. Answer machine EN Available functions during message playback : KEYS FUNCTIONS Skip back to the previous message. Play all recorded messages (new and old and memo) or play the current message again. Skip forward to the next message while listening. Delete the current message. Stop message playback. Delete current message 1. Press 2. Press to enter answer machine mode. 3. Press to delete the current message. A long beep confirms deletion of the message and the next message is played. Repeat step 3.
Answer machine EN Note: When ANSWER ONLY / ACTIVATED is selected, then the associated outgoing message is automatically set, i.e. „This is an answering machine, please call back later“. When ANSWER ONLY / DEACTIVATED is selected, then the associated outgoing message is automatically set, i.e. „This is an answering machine, please leave your message after the tone“. The voice language for the default outgoing messages depends on the country selected in Welcome mode, see page 2.
Answer machine EN To activate / deactivate call screening You can activate (default setting) or deactivate the call screening on the handset loudspeaker so that you can choose whether to hear or not the callers leaving a message and to decide whether or not to take the call. 1. Answer machine EN Note: If you are not satisfied with your personal outgoing message recorded, repeat the steps in section “To record your personal outgoing message”, page 38 and the old welcome message will be overwritten. If you want to have the default outgoing message back perform a reset, see “To reset to default settings (base station and handset)”, page 32. Record and listen to a memo This feature allows you to leave vocal messages for your family on the answer machine.
Answer machine EN To remotely control your answer machine WARNING : For security reasons the remote control of the answer machine is deactivated by default. You must activate this function on your CD 135 phone, see page 37, to be able to remotely access your answer machine. You can access your answer machine when you are away by using any tone dialing phone. To remotely access your answer machine 1. 2. From another phone dial home.
Troubleshooting EN Telephone troubleshooting PROBLEMS CAUSES The battery icon is not blinking when the handset is placed on the base. • Bad battery contact. • Dirty contact. No dialling tone. • No power. • Batteries are full. SOLUTIONS • Move the handset slightly. • Clean the contact with a cloth moistened with alcohol. • No need to charge. • Line adaptor (when needed) not connected to the line cord. • Check the connections. Reset the phone : unplug and plug back in the mains.
Troubleshooting EN PROBLEMS The handset displays „not available“ : • when attempting to add another handset to the base station, • when using a handset. CAUSES • The procedure to add a handset has failed, try again. • Maximum number of handsets (5) has been reached. • Base station is already busy with another handset. SOLUTIONS • Disconnect and connect the base station power supply. • Remove and place back the handset batteries. • Follow the procedure to register a handset (page 31).
Information EN Safety information This equipment is not designed to make emergency calls when the power fails. An alternative has to be made available to allow emergency calls. The default product PIN code is preset to 0000. If you change this PIN code, keep the PIN details in a safe place where you have easy access to them. Do not lose the PIN code.
