Software Upgrade

PHILIPS TV FIRMWARE UPGRADE WITH USB DRIVE

This software is for the following models which have had a recent on-line update which has

prevented the reception of digital live TV.

43PFL5604/F7 A, 50PFL5604/F7 A, 55PFL5604/F7 A, 65PFL5604/F7 A, 75PFL5604/F7 A

1. Please read the entire instructions before performing the upgrade.

2. The USB drive you use for the upgrade needs to meet the following criteria.

a. USB drive should be 2 G or larger.

b. USB drive should be clean formatted for FAT32 before you start the process.

c. Drives with U3 software are not supported.

3. Most modern computers usually have a Zip file extraction tools built in but in the case yours

does not, you can download and install 7-Zip or any other extraction tool to extract the

Firmware upgrade package. 7-Zip can be found here: http://7-zip.org/download.html

Loading Software

1. Unzip the file and copy software file “no tvcertificate.pkg” to the root directory of your USB

drive. The root directory would be like E:\

2. Connect USB memory to USB port on the TV.

3. Unplug the TV power cable from wall outlet, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.

4. The software update will begin with the following screen. Note) Please DO NOT unplug USB memory stick or power cable while the software is updating. Otherwise, the software will become corrupted and the TV will no longer function properly. 5. (Updating will take around 5~6 mins) 6. After updating is completed, the TV will reset to the start up screen automatically and will require you to reente 7. Unplug the USB memory stick from the TV. 8. Complete the initial start up screen and exit to Home screen.
