Recording
This function works when any of the picture sizes (P81) indicated with is selected. You can
zoom in further than you can with the Optical Zoom without deteriorating the image quality.
Maximum magnification: 22.5k
(This includes the optical zoom magnification. The magnification level differs depending
on [Picture Size] setting.)
“EZ” is an abbreviation of “Extra Optical Zoom”.
This function is not available in the following cases:
Macro Zoom Mode
[Toy Effect] (Creative Control Mode)
[High Sens.]/[Photo Frame]/[3D Photo Mode] (Scene Mode)
When [Burst] in the [Rec] menu is set to [ ] or [ ]
When recording motion pictures
This function works when [i.Resolution] (P94) in the [Rec] menu is set to [i.ZOOM]. You can
zoom in up to twice the original zoom magnification while minimising the deterioration of the
image quality.
This will work automatically in Intelligent Auto Mode.
This function is not available in the following cases:
Macro Zoom Mode
[Toy Effect] (Creative Control Mode)
[Handheld Night Shot]/[High Sens.]/[3D Photo Mode] (Scene Mode)
When [Burst] in the [Rec] menu is set to [ ] or [ ]
This function works when [Digital Zoom] (P94) in the [Rec] menu is set to [ON]. Although the
image quality deteriorates every time you zoom in further, you can zoom in up to four times the
original zoom magnification.
When using the [i.ZOOM], the maximum magnification of the Digital Zoom is limited to 2k.
We recommend using a tripod and the Self-timer (P63) for taking pictures.
This function is not available in the following cases:
Intelligent Auto Mode
[Toy Effect]/[Miniature Effect] (Creative Control Mode)
[Handheld Night Shot]/[High Sens.]/[Photo Frame]/[3D Photo Mode] (Scene Mode)
When [Burst] in the [Rec] menu is set to [ ] or [ ]
