1xRTT (single carrier [1x] radio
transmission technology)
A wireless technology that provides fast
data transfer and Internet access with
average speeds of 60 to 80Kbps and bursts
of up to 144Kbps. Also called
NationalAccess for Verizon Wireless
customers.
Alt (alternative)
A keyboard key. Enter a letter on the
keyboard, and then press Alt to access
variations such as international characters
and symbols.

Auto-off interval
The time of inactivity that passes before

700Kbps. It is capable of reaching
download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps and
upload speeds of up to 156Kbps. Also
called EVDO.
BroadBandAccess Connect
The name Verizon Wireless has given to a
wireless technology that enables you to
convert your smartphone into a wireless
modem so that you can access the Internet
from your computer. Also called dial-up
networking.
