Configuration -WAN Access 8 Frame relay configuration
Issue 5.3 (
30 March 2009) Nortel Networks Inc. 8-17
After a physical interface is encapsulated with MFR, the interface becomes a part of MFR and
you cannot configure with other FR commands besides MFR. At the same time, you configure
the queue type on the interface as FIFO. If you use other queue types before the interface
encapsulation, they are automatically changed into FIFO queues.
In the current realization, MFR does not support inter-board bundle. In other words, physical
interfaces in different slots cannot be bundled onto the same MFR.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before configuring MFR, you need to configure physical parameters for MFR.
Data preparation
To configure MFR, you need the following data.
No Data
1 Interface number of MFR interfaces, and the number of sub-interfaces if necessary
2 IP address and mask of MFR interfaces
3 VC number of MFR interfaces
4 Number of interfaces to be bundled onto MFR interfaces
Configuration procedures
No. Procedure
1 Creating and configuring an MFR interface
2 Bundling an interface to the MFR interface
3 Checking the configuration
