Image Sharpening ( Only)
The camera automatically processes pictures to
emphasize the borders between light and dark
areas of the picture, making edges seem sharper.
As this processing takes place after shooting, its
effects can not be previewed in the monitor, but
they will be visible in the fi nal picture. In
(manual) mode, the image-sharpening menu
gives you control over the amount of sharpening
performed.
Option Description
Auto
Camera sharpens edges for optimal results; amount of sharp-
ening varies from shot to shot.
High
Pictures processed to increase sharpness, making edges more
distinct.
Normal
Camera performs same standard level of sharpening on all
images.
Low Sharpening reduced below normal level.
Off No sharpening performed.

Taking Pictures for Retouching on a Computer
When taking pictures that will later be retouched, choose Off.
Image Sharpening
At settings other than Auto, the current image-sharp-
ening setting is indicated by an icon in the monitor.
