Use and Care Instructions

If purchasing item “Ready to Finish” special care must be taken to properly apply a

exterior grade final finish in a timely manner. Doing so will help protect your purchase

from discoloration and damage caused by ultra-violet light and exposure to weather.

Once the item is finished or if you have purchased an item that was prefinished by our

factory, follow the steps below to ensure its attractiveness and the longevity.

 Inspect and re-inspect the item annually.

o Look for areas of discoloration.

o Sprinkle piece with water to determine if water still beads up.

Look for areas of raised wood grain or “roughness”.

 If any of these conditions are observed, follow the manufacturer’s directions for the re-

application of finish. This will again restore the beauty and durability of the finish to its

original condition.

 Most finish manufacturers recommend a re-application of their product at specified

intervals to continue the protection afforded by the finish.

 If you have purchased your item “Ready to Finish” and have finished it yourself, please

refer to the original product manufacturer’s specifications on when to re-apply the

product.

 If you purchased your product prefinished by our factory, the final finish manufacturer,

Finish Works, recommends re-application every three years or as necessary to protect the

item.
