OVERVIEW The Modern Forms app enables control of Wi-Fi equipped Modern Forms Smart Fans. Log in with your existing Facebook Account or Google Account, create a new Modern Forms app account . New Modern Forms app accounts require every user to create a password with a minimum of 6 valid characters. The Modern Forms app remembers if the user has previously logged in. You may reset your own password anytime using the Modern Forms app and will receive a reset link via email.

2. QUICK START GUIDE In addition to the included wall control, you can control your fan through the Modern Forms app. 1. To use the app, download it for free from the App Store or Google Play. 2. Open the app to create an account. You can also log in using your Facebook or Google account. 3. Next, set up a Wi-Fi connection. You will need the SSID and Wi-Fi password for the network you wish to connect to. 4.
3. LOG IN BY CREATING A NEW MODERN FORMS SMART FAN ACCOUNT 1. CREATE AN ACCOUNT 2. LOG IN WITH AN ACCOUNT Click on the ''Sign Up'' option on the top right of the Log In page. If you have already created an account, you can log in with your email address and your password. Press ''LOG IN'' to complete the sign in process.
3. CREATING AN ACCOUNT WITH A FACEBOOK OR GOOGLE ACCOUNT 1.CREATE AN ACCOUNT Select ''Sign in with Facebook'' or ''Google Sign In.'' A pop-up screen will appear requesting confirmation to sign in. Select ''Continue.'' 6 2. LOG IN WITH A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT 3. LOG IN WITH A GOOGLE ACCOUNT Enter Facebook username and password, then select ''Log in.'' Enter Google username and password, then select ''Log in.
4. MAIN SCREEN MAIN POWER SPEED CONTROL Simultaneously power on/off the fan and light, if applicable*. Use slider to control fan speed (6 speeds available). FAN POWER Touch icon to turn fan on/off. BRIGHTNESS CONTROL Use slider to control brightness. LIGHT POWER Touch icon to turn light on/off. SLEEP TIMER WINTER/SUMMER MODE Switch between Winter/Summer Mode settings for improved heating and cooling effectiveness. Set light and fan timers individually.

Set occurrence to ''daily'' or “desired day of week” to turn fan and light on/off to set schedule. Select Set [From] time by Hour, Minutes, and AM/PM. Set [Until] time by Hour, Minutes, and AM/PM. 9. INTEGRATION TO SMART HOME DEVICES NEST® 10:40 AM Your smart fan will automatically switch to Summer Mode or Winter Mode when your HVAC changes from cooling to heating. If your Nest smoke detector is alerted, your fans will shut off automatically to help prevent a fire from spreading (pg.16). ECOBEE® INTEGRATION Use Assist Mode to conserve even more energy.Your fan will automatically turn on and/or off based on your HVAC status and make you less dependent on heat or air conditioning.
9.1 NEST® INTEGRATION Your smart fan will automatically switch to Summer Mode or Winter Mode when your HVAC changes from cooling to heating. 1. NEST® INTEGRATION Select ''Connect with NEST®'' which will open the device web browser. 16 Enter NEST® email address and password, then select 'Sign in.' Review (Terms of Use) and select ''Allow.'' Select NEST® thermostat to be connected with a Modern Forms Smart Fan.

Set fan speed: Min [ gray slider] and Max [colored slider]. 4. ADD/REMOVE DEVICES Select to add a Modern Forms Smart Fan. Select Modern Forms Smart Fan(s) to be paired with Nest®.
9.2 ECOBEE® INTEGRATION Your smart fan will automatically switch to Summer Mode or Winter Mode when your HVAC changes from cooling to heating. 1. ECOBEE® INTEGRATION Select ''Connect with ECOBEE®.'' Modern Forms will create a unique “Pin Code” for thermostat pairing. Enter ECOBEE® username and password, then select ''Sign in.'' Navigate to ''My Apps'' under the menu options. ''Add Application'' with the Modern Forms ''Pin Code'' and select ''Validate.
9.2 ECOBEE® INTEGRATION (cont.) Return to Modern Forms app to complete pairing. Select ECOBEE® thermostat to access control features. 2. ECOBEE® ASSIST MODE HEAVY MODE 3. ADD/REMOVE DEVICES Your fan will automatically switch to Summer Mode or Winter Mode when your HVAC changes from cooling to heating. Turn on fan with HVAC; turns off fan 5 minutes after HVAC is off. Select to add a Modern Forms Smart Fan. LIGHT MODE Select mode and set fan speed, Min[ gray slider] and Max[colored slider].
9.3 AMAZON ALEXA® INTEGRATION Download the Amazon Alexa app by selecting ’’Connect with Amazon Alexa.’’ 1. VERIFY Your Modern Forms Smart Fan and light are receiving power. 2. DOWNLOAD Amazon Alexa app (iOS or Android) and verify your Alexa device is set up and ready for use. 3.
9.4 GOOGLE ASSISTANT® INTEGRATION Download the Google Assistant app by selecting ''Connect with GOOGLE ASSISTANT®.'' 1. VERIFY Your Modern Forms fans and lights are receiving power. Make sure you are signed in to your Modern Forms account and your Modern Forms Smart Fan(s) are listed under fan home screen. 2. DOWNLOAD Step 1: Download Google Assistant App Step 2: Talk to Modern Forms Google Home app (iOS or Android) and verify your Google Home device is set up and ready for use.
9.5 SAMSUNG SMARTTHINGS® INTEGRATION Download the Samsung SmartThings app by selecting ''Connect with Samsung SmartThings®.'' 1. VERIFY Your Modern Forms Smart Fan and light are receiving power. 2. DOWNLOAD The Samsung SmartThings (iOS or Android) and verify your SmartThings hub is set up and ready for use. Step 1: Download Samsung SmartThings App Step 2: Add SmartThings device manually Step 3: Navigate to “ More Compatiable Devices” Step 4: Authorize connection to SmartThings 3.
10. FAN SHARING Allows sharing of paired fan(s) to other Modern Forms accounts. INVITE NEW USER To share a fan select to invite a new user. Enter the new user’s full name and email address. TO REMOVE USER Select fan(s) to be shared with the new user. select ''edit.'' To remove shared Fan access, Select shared fan to remove individual access. ''Remove User'' will unlink all shared fans from user. Select ''Send Email.
11. AWAY MODE The Modern Forms app will alternate between turning your device on and off to simulate someone being home in order to discourage potential burglars. Toggle Away Mode on/off.
