Cleaning and care ,Before any cleaning or maintenance work is carried out, disconnect the rangehood from the mains supply. Ensure that – it is switched off at the wall socket and the plug is removed, or – the mains fuse is withdrawn, or – the screw-out fuse is removed (in countries where this is applicable). ,The halogen lamps get very hot during use, and remain hot for some time after being switched off. The hot halogen lamps can be damaged if water is used to clean them.
Cleaning and care Important for appliances with lacquered housing It is very difficult to clean this type of surface without causing minor marks to the surface material. This can become particularly noticeable if there is halogen lighting in the kitchen. Important information for cleaning the controls The controls may suffer discolouration or damage if soiling is left on them for too long. Remove soiling straight away.
Cleaning and care Cleaning the grease filters by hand ^ Clean the filter with a soft nylon brush in a mild solution of hot water and a little washing-up liquid. Do not use undiluted washing-up liquid. Do not use: – cleaning agents containing descaling agents, – powder cleaners, cream cleaners or abrasive all-purpose cleaning agents, – oven sprays. Cleaning the grease filters in the dishwasher ^ Place the filters as upright as possible in the lower basket. Ensure the spray arm is not obstructed.
Cleaning and care Charcoal filter If the rangehood is connected for recirculation (see "Installation"), a Miele NoSmell active charcoal filter must be inserted in addition to the grease filter. ^ Unwrap the charcoal filter from its packaging. ^ Remove the grease filters. ^ Push the cover for the charcoal filter duct slightly to the right and then lower it to remove. ^ Place the charcoal filter in its duct and push it up against the air outlet grille. ^ Refit the cover and the grease filters.
Cleaning and care Changing a halogen lamp ^ Remove the grease filters. ^ Ensure the rangehood is disconnected from the electricity supply. To do this: – switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug, or – remove the mains fuse, or – remove the screw-out fuse (in countries where this is applicable). ,Exercise caution when changing halogen lamps. They get very hot during use and remain hot for some time after being switched off. Let them cool down before you change them.
