Command Series Migration to MOD 30ML
Function Code 156 – PID (Cascade)
EXPLANATION
Configuration with this compound requires understanding of the compound and how the
PID block is configured in the MOD 30ML/Modcell controllers. Following is the
reference that includes listing of most commonly used / changed attribute and inputs and
outputs. Necessary block configuration tabs are also explained to make it easier.

Connect to the PID1.S1 signal of the
compound. Process Input signal.

Connect from the PV1Q.PV1Q signal
of the compound. Process Input Quality
S2 PID2 Input – S2
Floating Point
Connect to the PID2.S2 signal of the
compound. Process Input signal.
S2Q PV2Q Output – PV2Q

Connect from the PV2Q.PV2Q signal
of the compound. Process Input Quality
S5 PID1, PID2,
PIDFAIL
Input – Floating
Point
Change in the Control tab of the
corresponding PID block. Change the
value for MANUAL RESET – BASE
VALUE.
S6 PID1 Input – S6
Floating Point
Feed-forward input for the PID1. Enable
in the Options tab of the PID block.
Change the calculation type to Add.
Connect the feed forward signal to the
PID1.S6 signal of the compound.
S6Q PV2Q Output – S6Q
Boolean (Discrete)
Connect from the PV2Q.S6Q signal of
the compound. Process Input Quality

Floating Point
Gain Multiplier input for the PID1.
Connect to the PID1.S11 signal of the
compound or change in the Control tab
of the PID1 block. Change the value for
GAIN MULTIPLIER INPUT.

Floating Point
Gain Multiplier input for the PID2.
Connect to the PID2.S11 signal of the
compound or change in the Control tab
