Bamboo should last many years in the outdoors. Avoid direct contact with soil to help
prevent rot if possible. A clear coat of outdoor varnish/sealant will help maintain the
appearance of the bamboo, if not the bamboo will age like cedar to a silver-grey color
tone. If the bamboo can be stored away easily in winter weather, that will also help
extend its life.
