Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles. Setting Up the Hitch Adapter 1. A steel hitch pin and matching R-Shaped Safety Clip (both not included) are needed to secure the Hitch Adapter’s shank to the tow vehicle’s receiver hitch - see illustration below.
