years.However,verylargenumbersofanimalswouldbeneededtoprovide
reliableproofofacancerpromotingeffect,ifoneexists.Epidemiological
studiescanprovidedatathatisdirectlyapplicabletohumanpopulations,but
tenormoreyearsfollow-upmaybeneededtoprovideanswersaboutsome
healtheffects,suchascancer.Thisisbecausetheintervalbetweenthetime
ofexposuretoacancer-causingagentandthetimetumorsdevelop-ifthey
do-maybemany,manyyears.Theinterpretationofepidemiologicalstudies
ishamperedbydifcultiesinmeasuringactualRFexposureduringday-to-
dayuseofwirelessphones.Manyfactorsaffectthismeasurement,suchas
theangleatwhichthephoneisheld,orwhichmodelofphoneisused.

exposuretoRadioFrequency(RF)energy.

InternationalElectroMagneticFields(EMF)Projectsinceitsinceptionin
1996.Aninuentialresultofthisworkhasbeenthedevelopmentofa
detailedagendaofresearchneedsthathasdriventheestablishmentofnew
researchprogramsaroundtheworld.Theprojecthasalsohelpeddevelopa
seriesofpublicinformationdocumentsonEMFissues.
