Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandthepowercordispluggedintoaworking
electricaloutlet.
Thecomputeristurnedon.(Pressthepowerbuttonagainforconrmation.)
Thebrightnesslevelofthescreenisappropriatelyset.
Ifapower-onpasswordisset,pressanykeytodisplaythepromptforthepower-onpasswordand
thentypethecorrectpasswordandpressEnter.
Iftheseitemsarecorrectlyset,andthescreenremainsblank,havethecomputerserviced.
Problem:WhenIturnonthecomputer,onlyawhitecursorisdisplayedonablankscreen.
Solution:Ifyouhavemodiedapartitiononyourharddiskdrivebyusingpartitionsoftware,information
aboutthatpartition,orthemasterbootrecordmighthavebeendestroyed.
Dothefollowingtotrytosolvetheproblem:
1.Turnoffthecomputer,andthenturnitonagain.
2.Ifyoustillseeonlythecursoronthescreen,dothefollowing:
Ifyouhaveusedpartitionsoftware,examinethepartitionontheharddiskdrivebyusingthe
software,andrecoverthepartitionifrequired.
Usetherecoverysolutionstorestorethesystemtothefactorydefaultstate.
Iftheproblempersists,havethecomputerserviced.
Problem:Myscreengoesblankwhilethecomputerison.
Solution:Yourscreensaverorpowermanagementmighthavebeenenabled.Dooneofthefollowing:
TouchtheTrackPointpointingdeviceorthetouchpad,orpressakeytoexitthescreensaver.
Pressthepowerbuttontoresumethecomputerfromsleeporhibernationmode.
