Thischapterprovidesinformationonwhattodoifyouexperienceaproblemwithyourcomputer.
Troubleshooting
Tomakesurethatyourcomputerhasthefeaturesthatareintroducedinthefollowingsections,consultthe
onlinehelporthelistshippedwithyourcomputer.
Batteryandpowerproblems
Thistopicprovidesinstructionsontroubleshootingbatteryandpowerproblems.
Printtheseinstructionsfirst.
Thecomputerturnsoffbeforethebatterystatusindicatorshowsempty,orthecomputeroperates
afterthebatterystatusindicatorshowsempty.
ResetthebatterygaugeusingLenovoEnergyManagement.Iftheproblempersists,replacewithanew
batterypack.
Theoperatingtimeofafullychargedbatterypackisshort.
Dischargeandrechargethebatterypack.Iftheproblempersists,useanewbatterypack.
Thecomputerdoesnotoperatewithafullychargedbatterypack.
Thesurgeprotectorinthebatterypackmightbeactive.Turnoffthecomputerforoneminutetodisablethe
surgeprotector;thenturnonthecomputeragain.
Thebatterypackcannotbecharged.
Youcannotchargethebatterywhenitistoohot.Ifthebatteryishot,removeitfromthecomputerandletit
cooltoroomtemperature.Afteritcools,reinstallitandrechargethebatterypack.Iftheproblempersists,
contactyourlocalCustomerSupportCenter.
Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtoboththecomputerandtheworkingelectricaloutlet,buttheac
poweradaptericonisnotdisplayedintheWindowsnotificationarea,andtheacpowerindicator
doesnotlightup.
Dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer,andthendisconnecttheacpoweradapterandremovethemainbatterypack.
2.Reinstallthebatteryandreconnecttheacpoweradapter,thenturnonthecomputer.Ensurethattheac
poweradapteriscorrectlyandsecurelyconnected.
3.Turnonthecomputer.
Iftheproblempersists,contactyourlocalCustomerSupportCenter.
Astartupproblem
Printtheseinstructionsnowandkeepitwithyourcomputerforreferencelater.
TheMicrosoftWindowsoperatingsystemdoesnotstart.
