pressEnter.Therescuemediumstarts.
Whentherescuemediumstarts,theRescueandRecoveryworkspaceopens.Thehelpinformationfor
eachfeatureisavailablefromtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace.Followtheinstructionstocomplete
therecoveryprocess.

Yourcomputerhasprovisionsthatenableyoutoreinstallselectedfactory-installedapplicationsanddevice
drivers.
Reinstallingpreinstalledapplications
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreinstallpreinstalledapplications.
ToreinstalltheselectedapplicationspreinstalledonyourLenovocomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Turnonthecomputer.
2.GototheC:\SWTOOLSdirectory.
3.Opentheappsfolder.Withintheappsfolder,thereareseveralsubfoldersnamedforvariousapplications
installedinyourcomputer.
4.Opentheappropriateapplicationsubfolder.
5.Intheapplicationsubfolder,lookforaSETUP .EXEfileorotherappropriateEXEfilesforsetup.
Double-clickthefileandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheinstallation.
Reinstallingpreinstalleddevicedrivers
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreinstallpreinstalleddevicedrivers.
Attention:Whenyoureinstalldevicedrivers,youarechangingthecurrentconfigurationofyourcomputer.
Reinstalldevicedriversonlywhenitisnecessarytocorrectaproblemwithyourcomputer.
Toreinstallthedevicedriverforafactory-installeddevice,dothefollowing:
1.Turnonthecomputer.
2.GototheC:\SWTOOLSdirectory.
3.OpentheDRIVERSfolder.WithintheDRIVERSfolder,thereareseveralsubfoldersnamedforvarious
devicesinstalledinyourcomputer,suchasAUDIOorVIDEO.
4.Opentheappropriatedevicesubfolder.
5.Dooneofthefollowing:
•Inthedevicesubfolder,lookforaSETUP .exefile.Double-clickthefileandfollowtheinstructionson
thescreentocompletetheinstallation.
•Inthedevicesubfolder,lookforaREADME.txtfileorafilewiththe.txtextension.Thisfilemightbe
namedaftertheoperatingsystem,suchasWIN98.txt.TheTXTfilecontainsinformationabouthowto
installthedevicedriver.Followtheinstructionstocompletetheinstallation.
•Ifthedevicesubfoldercontainsafilewiththe.infextensionandyouwanttoinstallthedevice
driverusingtheINFfile,refertoyourWindowsHelpandSupportinformationsystemfordetailed
informationabouthowtoinstallthedevicedriver.
