Yourcomputerisdesignedformanageability,sothatyoucanredirectmoreofyourresourcestobetter
meetyourbusinessobjectives.
Thismanageability,or“TotalCostofOwnership”(TCO),enablesyoutoremotelypoweronyourcomputer,
formattheharddiskdrive,installthesoftwareofyourchoice,andhavethecomputerstartupandfunction
inthesamewayasanordinarydesktopPC.
Oncethecomputerisconguredandoperational,youcanmanageitbyuseofsoftwareandmanageability
featuresalreadyintegratedintotheclientsystemandthenetwork.

YourcomputersupportsthePCfunctionsthatPXErequires.Forexample,withtheappropriateLANcard,
yourcomputercanbebootedfromthePXEserver.
Note:RemoteProgramLoad(RPL)cannotbeusedwithyourcomputer.
WakeonLAN
AnetworkadministratorcanuseWakeonLANtoturnonacomputerfromamanagementconsole.
WhenWakeonLANisusedwithnetworkmanagementsoftware,manyfunctions,suchasdatatransfer,
softwareupdates,andFlashupdates,canbeperformedremotelywithoutremoteattendance.Thisupdating
canbedoneafternormalworkinghoursandonweekends,tosavetimeandincreaseproductivity.Usersare
notinterruptedduringnormalworkinghours,andLANtrafciskepttoaminimum.
IfacomputeristurnedonbytheWakeonLANfunction,theNetworkbootsequenceisused.
AssetIDEEPROM
TheAssetIDEEPROMcontainsinformationaboutthesystem,includingitscongurationandtheserial
numbersofkeycomponents.Italsoincludesanumberofblankeldsinwhichyoucanrecordinformation
abouttheendusersinyournetwork.
