Thissectionprovidesinformationonhowtoremoveandreplacetheharddiskdrive.

Toremoveorreplacetheharddiskdrive,dothefollowing:

1.Removethecomputercover.See"Removingthecover"onpage68.

Note:Forthisprocedure,ithelpstolaythecomputeronitsside.

2.Disconnectthesignalandpowercablesfromtheharddiskdrive.

3.Pressthereleasetab1down,slidetheharddrivecage2back,andpivottheharddiskdriveoutward

asshown.

4.Removetheharddiskdrivecagefromthechassisbysimplyslidingitoutward.

5.Pullonthebluehandle3toremoveharddiskdrivefromthedrivecage.

6.Removethefailingharddiskdrivefromtheblueplasticbracketfrombyexingthesidesofthebracket

enoughtofreeitfromtheharddiskdrive.

7.Toinstallthenewdriveintothebluebracket,exthebracket,andalignthepins1through4onthe

bracketwiththeholesintheharddiskdrive.Donottouchthecircuitboard5onthebottomofthe

harddiskdrive.
