Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstallorreplaceamemorymodule.
YourcomputerhastwoslotsforinstallingorreplacingDDR3DIMMsthatprovideuptoamaximumof8GB
systemmemory.Wheninstallingorreplacingamemorymodule,use1GB,2GB,or4GBDDR3DIMMsin
anycombinationuptoamaximumof8GB.
Toinstallorreplaceamemorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage32.
3.Laythecomputeronitssideforeasieraccesstothesystemboard.
4.Removetheheatsinkfanduct.See“Replacingtheheatsinkandfanassembly”onpage46.
5.Locatethememoryslots.See“Locatingpartsonthesystemboard”onpage11.
6.Removeanypartsthatmightpreventaccesstothememoryslots.
