3. Referring to Figure 4-1 above, unlatch the battery door catch, open the battery door and
lift the battery pack out of the tray.
4. Referring to Figure 4-2 below, using a pair of small flat nosed pliers, remove the
existing ‘set’ code plug by pulling it straight up and away from its battery compartment
location. We recommend you: (1) tag the removed code plug with the serial number of
the controller, and (2) deposit the code plug in a safe place under lock and key.

5. If the new code plug is blank (unset), set the new address code previously recorded in
Step 2. To set the code, pins 2 through 8 must be cut in a specific pattern. Figure 4-3
below shows all possible address codes for the code plug. For example, to set the code
plug to Address Code 14, pins 4, and 6 must be cut. DO NOT cut Pins 1, 9 and 10.
